If we are only using 2 picks I would think they will be very high picks. I expect us to be aggressive in trying to get our trading done early to give us the best possible chance of moving up the board.
I wonder if the JHF to Port has made it more urgent to get our deals done. I assume North will want at least one pick at the very pointing end of this years draft to be part of the deal. Given how difficult top 7 picks are to trade for JHF trade could make the market a lot more competitive.

I think we will use more than 2 picks.

Would have preferred LJ stayed with us and we wouldn’t have had too go down the Grundy path. Sooooo what would happen if dockers and eagle’s cannot come up with a fair deal and LJ decides to come back to us, because he wants us too get a fair deal I hope, he’s got Kates phone number😁,can he do that or does he have to go thru the draft? Far fetched I know, has it happened in the past, I cannot recall it happening. Go Dees

Bedford, Hunt, Jackson, Rosman +/- Baker out.

Grundy in. Chandler promoted?

That’s 2-3 main list spots as is. And 3 rookie spots.

Baker, Hibberd and Melksham could all be redrafted as rookies rather than main listers so there’s plenty of flexibility to add more players or lose more players.

I’d go to the draft with at least 2 main picks and a 3rd pick that we can use or not use depending on the strength of the draft

I’m assuming he can still sign a contract with us.

Just as context the points value of #13, Norfs comp pick #20 and Freos future first is at least 3k in total. That’s assuming Freo win the GF (unlikely) so it’s possibly more.

So we can make a play for just about any pick in the first round if that is what Freo end up offering us. But using all three picks for 1 player seems like a  huge gamble.

Much rather ( assuming we get the above picks for LJ), we try to use #13 and Freo’s F1 and make a play for  #5 from Adelaide or #4 from Essendon.

You feel like both clubs will need to bottom out some more and given the talent next year could end up with two early first rounders.

I thought the same

Hunt went for effectively “absolutely nothing in return” !!!

It worse as Jones is 22 in February.

5 years older than Hunt and he retired of his own volition, yet Carlton now get a higher pick than us for Hunt.

We lose Hunt who played 40 games in the last two years and Carlton get more for a bloke who was retired for a year.

It's an absolute joke.

They got what the rules at the time prescribed.

We might have got overs in true value and the Hawks unders in value, but that was the formula.

Now we don't know how the decision is made.

That said, do you agree with my point?

Contracts probably similar, both 3rd round compo. Honestly this isn't the kind of thing that gets me worked up ...

My old man just messaged me to say apparently Peter Wright has requested to be traded and that we're interested.

Has anyone heard this or has the old fella gone off the deep end?

Just a way of him saving face, it buys him 12 months. He's a prat.

The luckless Salem suffered a hamstring injury against the Lions early in the season and, after missing a number of games, he was never at his best. He was also inconvenienced by minor niggles later in the season. This was a blow for the club that sorely needed him to fill gaps in the midfield at times as well as to do his best work in defence. Lack of preparation after a problematic preseason prevented Oliver from reaching the high standards set before last year’s hamstring woes. BLOODY BLUES by Meggs

The conclusion to Narrm’s home and away season was the inevitable let down by the bloody Blues  who meekly capitulated to the Bombers.   The 2024 season fixture handicapped the Demons chances from the get-go with Port Adelaide, Brisbane and Essendon advantaged with enough gimme games to ensure a tough road to the finals, especially after a slew of early season injuries to star players cost wins and percentage.     As we strode confidently through the gates of Prin
