Well DS, you won’t have to tolerate people getting their bloomers in a bunch any longer.
WCW out.

It wasn't just you actually mate. A few posters seemed to have missed my attempt at humour.

I shall refrain from trying any humour henceforth.

I'm not saying I want Tomo to go. I thought he was playing great football prior to doing his ACL. Freo are apparently not willing to let Logue go if Lobb leaves. Keath is the Bulldogs best beckman so he wouldn't leave either and now there is word that Walker of North is looking at other options so that leaves the door open to North needing 2 quality key backman.

so it seems logue out to north, hence the hold up on jwalker. keath is out of favour at the dogs, got dropped late in the season for cordy and now with darcy potentially moving back there to leave bruce/naughton/jamarra and potentially something to happen with lobb and with jones coming in he at the age of 32 having been monstered by a few bigs this year is potentially on the outer and battling for a new gig. gardiner already tied down for next season too

Good pick up by North, and a smart decision by Logue.

I'm thinking North's 2nd round pick or priority pick will get the trade done, with maybe a late pick swap North's way.

Could be a handy pick for us

She’s got a great sense of humour D, as we all know, but obviously she is upset. If nothing else, her stance on (our) player bashing has been consistent and is well known, whether or not you agree with her interpretation of the “offending” post.

Why is it ok to insult Jake’s son?

And @A F

Seriously? This is a reference to what all the players were saying about him last year when they were in the bubble. They all loved him being there and he and the other kids made a big difference to helping dealing with being locked in the bubble.  They all talked fondly about how  full of life and mischievous he was. Not an insult in any way. The opposite.

It’s typical that the only team with lower total points value (of picks) than us is the team we will be dealing with over Jackson.

Only at the moment.  They're trading out Logue, Acres and Tucker with a watching brief on Lobb to get what they need for Jackson.

Does anyone really know what his contract is? If he is on $800k for 7 years his contract might be front loaded so maybe a significant portion of the contract could have already been paid. So if that is the case his salary might only be averaging say $600k/yr. I would go to Collingwood and offer to fully take over his contract in exchange for their first round pick. Grundy is then off their books. There would be cap space as this money would have been offered to Jackson.

Longevity, reliability to resist longer-term injuries, actual physical fitness and endurance, diverse rucking skills, and other criteria. Possibly better to have a more youthful and developing ruck addition than a 33 year old Grundy who is at the sunset of his footy career, and that youth would need to demonstrate current abilities in advance of those of the Weed. Money could and should be directed to forward line investments. Both a ruck - and a forward - are out there, somewhere, and the money otherwise expended on Grundy would be very handy to find such footballers.

Thanks.

With all the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th round picks held by Geelong and GCS they are very well placed to snare  Brisbane's first pick and their comp pick for McStay to help get their two F/S.

GCS will be further strengthened with the Rankin pick from Adelaide.

Hopefully Brisbane deal with GCS rather than Geelong!

The bf Freo board have their sights on a North priority pick, delusionally hoping North get #11 and Freo gets it for the two players..

Well I wouldn't do that deal myself, but it is Alistair Clarkson we're talking about.

I wouldn't even do it for pick #19 if North get it.

Having said that Logue is said to be on a $700k x 4 year contract so #19, +/-  other bits and pieces for him and Tucker could be in the ball park.

As an aside, Freo have certainly kicked a few 'own goals'.  They could have signed Logue for half those $ and terms at the start of this year but they thought it was too high.

They have low-balled a few players so it is no wonder they want out.

Chickens coming home to roost...!

I understand what you are saying and you make good points but our premiership window is now and bringing in a 28 year old player like Grundy at the right price would be a good investment. My point from back in August was that if the bulk of his contract has already been paid and he is only receiving $600 - $700k a year going forward then the club might consider taking over his full contract if Collingwood handed over their first / second round pick. Its pure conjecture. We don't know the structure of his contract. I would be surprised if its linear. Perhaps it is backended, in which case Collingwood has a problem.
