Nankervis was Gawn like, almost...nah... feel sorry for tiges.

I must be old school but there was a moment and 10min mark of 4th qtr where they could have buried Stewart with body contact and didn't, Demons would have planted a tombstone

It's not all about you Jack Reiwald.

For a change...

Cracking game

Entertaining from start to finish. Any game won by less than a kick is worth watching, but that was great to watch from the outset.

The FOXTEL team have been pushing the “sympathy” card for Tom Stewart all night. Will the AFL have the guts to give him the 2-3 he deserves. (I really do not like Geelong).

That was a really good game to watch and yes the cats got the 4 points but at least there percentage didn't go up by a lot.

David King said 5-6 weeks if the AFL is serious about concussion. Stewart played a good game, but you can very easily make the argument that his hit on Prestia was the difference in the game.

Great game between two middle of the road clubs. Richmond clueless on how to ice the game.

That was an absolute cracker. Don't mind the Cats getting up. Don't want the tiger army stinking up the G in September.

Hate both those [censored] of teams ....but it was a terrific game!

Yep, seeing the winner celebrate was going to be vomit worthy no matter the outcome.

Their percentage would have dropped slightly.  I'm tempted to say "by a whisker".  :D

King massively overrates this sort of thing - 2-3 is about right.

These are two good sides. Geelong are a better side this year with Stengle and De Konig.

Cracking game to watch. First time I’ve watched cats play in while. They didn’t look like a bunch of old men this evening.

I've also noticed players getting pushed in the back in marking contests and not being paid. It's more than holding one's ground, the aim is to take the opponent out of the contest. I thought Neale's mark on the boundary Punt Rd end was a clear push out. I think Petty got a good shove in another 1:1 contest

Happy for players to hold ground, but not if it clearly takes the opponent out of the contest

Yes it happened a number of times in our game Thursday night, player in front obviously pushed forward with the hands under the ball. And I always thought that the push in the back rule was created to stop the player behind merely pushing the player in front to take a mark or otherwise take possession by disadvantaging the player in the front position. This seemed the main reason for the rule but is now not being paid. But we still see umpires paying frees for falling into someone’s back when they are already on the ground or when you tackle someone and both fall forward. If you are strong enough to spin the player around it’s not a free even though you made contact with their back. So it seems it is now a “landing in the back” infringement rather than a “ push in the back” rule?

Wonder if the cats will fade, given their declared loading.

Loading or old age?

Agree. He’s a great, and usually fair, player - but that was everything we’ve been told the AFL wants to get out of the game.

Now  Cameron is eye gouging, definitely 2 weeks

MRP - “one week or two? Who are they playing in two weeks? OK. One week then”

% Would have gone down actually.

Tigers ran out of puff. Their mistakes in the last quarter were horrendous. Geelong just fed of their mistakes.

100%. Terrible mistakes.

Tom Lynch, whose entire job is to be the deepest forward on the ground, takes a mark at half back, turns around and plays on, and is shocked to find there’s no one in front of him. No Tom. No.

Well ..... I reckon that's the tiggers finished and we'll finish the cats in a couple of weeks!!

  • CASEY: Coburg

The Casey Demons returned to their home ground which was once a graveyard for opposing teams but they managed to gift the four points on offer to Coburg with yet another of their trademark displays of inaccuracy in front of goals and some undisciplined football that earned the displeasure of the umpires late in the game. The home team was welcomed by a small crowd at Casey Fields and looked right at home as it dominated the first three quarters and led for all bar the last five minutes of the game. In the end, they came away with nothing, despite winning everywhere but on the scoreboard and the free kick count.

  • POSTGAME: Rd 17 vs Adelaide

The Demons were wasteful early before putting the foot down early in the 2nd quarter but they chased tail for the remainder of the match. They could not get their first use of the footy after half time and when they did poor skills, execution and decision making let them down.
