Did you watch the game plus over the last three weeks, suggest you put glasses on.

Our odds will drift as a result of today which is a great thing, we are in a tired faze of the season atm. 

We have lost our confidence and air of invisibility, we have to go away and have a think about where we can reconnect and regather the troops.

We have been up for a while, we will come again only half way through its a long season peeps.

Missing component? McDonald.. he was our mobility who took a defender out of D50 or to other areas to create space in behind for our leading forwards. It’s not a coincidence our scoring has fallen off a cliff.

ANB and Harmes ( both senior players pulled out of contests) Sparrow  also limited with speed against lightning Collingwood runners.

Young Van Rooyen must come  in because he simply couldn’t play worse than Mitch Brown.

The truth that dare not be spoken by the club, and unjustifiably so in my opinion, but for which this game (on top of the last two) is further evidence (and I’m not saying we know for sure, before my head gets ripped off!) is that we are loading heavily. Ask yourself what’s unique about these last 3 games. Answer = last half capitulations, particularly last quarter. Remember we’ve been leading at halftime in all. Then ask what would be the MOST OBVIOUS reason. Answer = we are tiring early in games, and a lot it seems. Really a lot! Then ask why they might be so fatigued, when at our best, we did the opposite. Then ask who our fitness coach is, and who he learnt from? See any patterns?

Was written off by many but I feel as though he still has something to offer, even if his man in Elliott got off the chain late in the game.

We got beaten by a better side on the day, three of our talls were injured we had a small forward as medi sub, Mitch Brown was very poor, BB and Fritta couldn’t get near it and we had half a dozen players that are off the boil. We left to much to to few and they really stood up.!!!!

Still confident we can make something of the season but we need to find a way to kick a score.  Jackson was hopeless in the ruck today and Cox taught him a lesson, but he did look promising forward.  He should've kicked two.  Maybe the answer is he spends more time forward.  Gawn deep encourages the long bomb and he's the best ruck in the league.  He should be on ball the vast majority of the game.  Connection will only happen when forwards lead up.  Our style at the moment is the long bomb to a forward line who consistently get outmarked.  That's what is hurting us the most.

We're in horrible form. I've no idea why but we won a premiership with this group of players last year. No reason to think we can;t regroup and push hard into September again

I was behind the punt road goals. Countless times you had Fritsch or Brown in one on one situations with empty space. We ignored that option while Cox jogged down the wing to fill the hole. At one point he was jeering the Melbourne players to kick it to him. It was embarrassing and everyone behind the goals could see it. From that moment I knew we would lose. Was only a matter of time before Pies got on top.

I think the press wanted this decline. They kept asking whether we were unbeatable, until we were beaten. Now they think we are falling apart. I think we can right the ship pretty easily with some steady heads.

How is Brown ahead of Weideman? 
Weideman (may) be our future but there is now way Brown plays in a game that counts at the end of the year. 
 

selection is an issue along with the lack of urgency to ram hone momentum when we have it.

Also, these Pies are fast and hungry. Take nothing away from them.
 

 

Play a small forward line, like we had early last year. Ben Brown and Fritsch then the smalls. We don’t have other talls good enough to be in the 22.

Couple of thoughts:

1. Are we as fit as last year? The Burgess effect was incredible. Have we slipped back a few notches?

2. The game plan. Too slow to get ball into a stagnant forward line. Bomb the ball seems to be the modus operandi. Asking too much of the likes of Fritta.

3. Tracc. has lost confidence.

4. Teams are isolating Bowey and exploiting his one-in-one defensive abilities.

5. We still can't take a contested mark 

6. When you are constantly 20 + points ahead you have to go even harder.

7. Salem still needs a month of playing to get fit.

8. Teams think they can get us through the corridor now.

Yes it’s being turned over in our forward half too easily and it’s repeatedly coming out straight down the middle corridor with zero pressure, leaving our backs scrambling to cover their opponents. That opposition ball movement down the middle wasn’t happening last year. What’s changed? Our mids are racking up possessions but the team is getting little reward, it’s all defensive stuff, getting out of trouble, then a long kick up the line to no one. Endurance and speed over the ground seem to be issues this year

Don’t have the good fortune of watch live, if that’s true then we clearly have to work on our method.

Still.. our forward line isn’t functioning, and that is often at least in part responsible for the indecision that happens up the field

Problem is our players lack confidence ATM. Harmes a clear example, he had open goal and instead tried to give a mark to Dogga who was well covered. Just kick to the open goal Harmes!

Let the odds drift a bit more from 3.50 you can now get.

Birthday tomorrow, gee a fair few of them have been ruined by this match. Can't remember who it was last year who called me out for mentioning it was my birthday and had a problem with it but you need to get a life you [censored]. Have to pony up and face all the "What happened to Melbourne"  comments. Ouch. Just one cruisey day please, just one?

I think we've blown it, I really don't see any chance at all for top 2 now. Theres just no way. That half an hour of football was never going to be easy but we NEEDED TO PASS THE TEST. We failed, we failed miserably. Everything is not OK and you can go to hell if you think we should be happy with a 10-3 ratio, you stink and wouldn't make it in a court of law. When we bombed it they marked everything, when they bombed it quickly they caught us off guard all the time. When was the last time we let the opposition mark in the goalsquare that much.

We failed the test today, a big F. We stunk up the joint and never looked like winning, we're on par now with Carlton for gods sake. 

We need to take some big scalps in the back end to deal with this, because this sucks.

Gee certain posters must have lost their DL login details for the first 10 rounds but all remembered them 3 weeks ago.

100% mate. We should and will win another flag with this group. I just don't see it this year. It's not that we've lost 3 in a row. It's how they have been lost. We look like a bottom 8 team trying to keep up. Combine this with all this talk about Melbourne being in 2nd gear over the first 10 weeks... I didn't want to believe it but I'm starting to see it now.
