But good quarter and good to see the pies cheersquad have not much to cheer about

 

 

Regardless of whether we win or loose today if they keep up the intensity they’ve  shown so far it’s a big step forward

    Pretty good start, Oliver pretty much literally everywhere. Jackson getting back into it, great to see. A little too similar to last week with us going into the break with a lead, but oppo not capitalising. The Pies could and should have had a couple. 

    The difference will be how to come back from the break. We've absorbed a lot, so now it's time to make some hay.

    Can't praise Oliver enough.

    The ball to him is like a yo yo.

    Great for bbb to kick one and gets some confidence.

    We need to man up their spare at the back of stoppages 

    Dees warming to the task the longer the quarter went. Some good signs there. Maintain the efficiency, pressure and desire! BBB is backkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk! Jacko too! Turner great start.

    Certainly some heat in this. Hopefully some midfielders step up to help Oliver. 

    Our set up at contest seems to be a losing one again this week. Spilling out to pies players like it did swans last week.
    we look a bit lost ball in hand. Taking the wrong option often. Need to learn when not to roost but to weave through. Partly fitness issue

In that forgettable season, Melbourne finally broke their drought by toppling the Bombers. Can lightning strike twice? Will the Dees turn their nightmare start around and breathe life back into 2025?

      As the focus of the AFL moves exclusively to South Australia for Gather Round, the question is raised as to what are we going to get from the  Melbourne Football Club this weekend? Will it be a repeat of the slop fest of the last three weeks that have seen the team score a measly 174 points and concede 310 or will a return to the City of Churches and the scene where they performed at their best in 2024 act as a wakeup call and bring them out of their early season reverie?  Or will the sleepy Dees treat their fans to a reenactment of their lazy effort from the first Gather Round of two years ago when they allowed the Bombers to trample all over them on a soggy and wet Adelaide Oval? The two examples from above tell us how fickle form can be in football. Last year, a committed group of players turned up in Adelaide with a businesslike mindset. They had a plan, went in confidently and hard for the football and kicked winning scores against both home teams in a difficult environment for visitors. And they repeated that sort of effort later in the season when they played Essendon at the MCG.
