I'll be very, VERY surprised if we win this. Collingwood just look primed to absolutely go nuts. Just like Freo. Brace yourselves fam.

That’s the spirit @praha

So it would be really great if trac, both browns & kozzie get busy this quarter

Just leave Kozzie up fwd.

Too tall, M Brown should never be playing, Kozzie was passed by Oliver in a chase down… Sparrow still isn’t in good form, Trac is slowly getting better.
We need to a lift off those lesser players Fritta and M Brown getting marks inside 50 would help too.

Correct, he serves no purpose, doesn’t crash packs and can’t take a contested mark.

I would much rather Weid up forward despite his recent performances.

Or JVR. Young and not ready but he gives a crack. Weid and Mitch Brown appear not wanting to hurt anyone in a contest

Given the last few weeks and the fact that the Pies should be up right now, they'll be smelling blood in the water.

If we don't come out firing, we lose. We look tired and it's going to take a few more games to get our mojo back. Today is about getting a win to settle things.

Geez we look like a pale imitation of ourselves from last year.

Harmes streaming into the 50 runs to 40m and doesn’t make the distance or doesn’t have a shot. I’m unsure which it was but I was sick to death of this from last week as well

Unforgiveable.

really hope max is ok, need everyone to take the tackle pressure and intensity up a notch in the second half. Come on Dees!

It's obvious from level 4 of the ponsford we are just not moving. We get the ball and the team is stagnant. No one leading into space. M.brown non existent

Yep and this is the case in general around stoppages and in game play.

A few too many handball receivers are flat footed but....this is also being brought about by one or two extra (unecessary)  handballs to a nearby player drawing further pressure.

Too me this is a structural adjustment thing.  Get the outliers out a little further so they have a tad more time to change lanes after the receive & execute by foot or get the overlap going over the top by hand.

Know it's been said, but missing May.

Random cursing.

We just have to find a way to hang on. We rely on Oliver at clearances way to much. Mitch Brown looks like an old man.

Missing Tom McDonald up in the forward line to.

Gawn shouldn't worry about ginnivan. Don't even waste a breath on him.

Got a spray from Ginnivan while in the hands of trainers ..didn’t like it max. Came for him at the bench. Hope he comes out steaming

And yet, up until 2 weeks ago everything was going great. Is it complacency?

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

From the start, Melbourne’s performance against the Gold Coast Suns at Peoples First Stadium was nothing short of a massive botch up and it came down in the first instance to poor preparation. Rather than adequately preparing the team for battle against an opponent potentially on the skids after suffering three consecutive losses, the Demons looking anything but sharp and ready to play in the opening minutes of the game. By way of contrast, the Suns demonstrated a clear sense of purpose and will to win. From the very first bounce of the ball they were back to where they left off earlier in the season in Round Three when the teams met at the MCG. They ran rings around the Demons and finished the game off with a dominant six goal final term. This time, they produced another dominant quarter to start the game, restricting Melbourne to a solitary point to lead by six goals at the first break, by which time, the game was all but over.

  • CASEY: Gold Coast

Coming off four consecutive victories and with a team filled with 17 AFL listed players, the Casey Demons took to their early morning encounter with the lowly Gold Coast Suns at People First Stadium with the swagger of a team that thought a win was inevitable. They were smashing it for the first twenty minutes of the game after Tom Fullarton booted the first two goals but they then descended into an abyss of frustrating poor form and lackadaisical effort that saw the swagger and the early arrogance disappear by quarter time when their lead was overtaken by a more intense and committed opponent. The Suns continued to apply the pressure in the second quarter and got out to a three goal lead in mid term before the Demons fought back. A late goal to the home side before the half time bell saw them ten points up at the break and another surge in the third quarter saw them comfortably up with a 23 point lead at the final break.

  • POSTGAME: Rd 16 vs Gold Coast

The Demons did not come to play from the opening bounce and let the Gold Coast kick the first 5 goals of the match. They then outscored the Suns for the next 3 quarters but it was too little too late and their season is now effectively over.
