Nathan Buckley’s trying to argue that Richmond have forced this scenario. He’s completely ignoring our inaccuracy. That’s the game right there. Appalling commentary from someone who should know better.

Probably shows in the big picture why he doesn't have a coaching job

His worst game for a long time. Only upside from here.

Fritta needs to get on his bike. Vloustin is his opponent and is destroying him and us.

Fritsch doesn’t really know how to play as a defensive forward. He needs to improve his intensity at the contest.

Gone to sleep here .. putrid effort

What a  load of crap. We are 3 points down despite kicking 3.12.  Yes, our goal kicking is putrid but on the balance of play we're a 6-goal better team. Message at half-time is keep playing the way we are but just choose better options in the Forward 50 and kick straight! I'd be amazed if Richmond can keep this tackling pressure up but if they can they probably deserve to win 😞

Dunstan is no Jack Viney.

We would be better of with Keith Dunstan - or Don

I’m done with Weid. Move his [censored] to the dead pocket and tell him to play up and down that flank only.

Park BBB in the square and have the smalls rove off him

Agree on Weidman , we actually need BBB leading further up the ground

Spargo, Kozzie, ANB, Sparrow nail their relatively easy shots and it’s game over. We’ve kept them in the game simple as that.

Richmond kicked 3-1 that quarter for 8 entries, we kicked 1-6 for 17 entries

We kicked 3 goals from 32 inside 50s.
Kicked 3 goals from 17 shots. That’s f@$)$sd.

Tracca and Jackson and Kozzie  and Fritta might want to get involved the next half.

When it comes to games like this, pressure games, proper pressure. We learn a lot about our players. Good that you mentioned Kozzie. Anyone who bags Kozzie for whatever reasons needs to watch this first half. I loved Kozzie before tonight and I’m sure we all do, but wow, really impressed by him tonight. Has he had limited opportunities? Absolutely, so that’s why the casual observer, and probably limited knowledge of football supporter, would deem Kozzie to be having a quiet game. But the kid has been willing, and mostly important, has shown great intent.

I will give you some beyond sh*t players for tonight. Petracca, Neal Bullen, Luke Jackson. Probably more, I assume McDonald ain’t out there.

Hopefully Goody is pointing out we are dominating except for the scoreboard & tell them to kick straight

Translation please.

Gus gave Jacko a spray for his poor defensive running. He lost Reiwoldt and let him mark uncontested.

On Weid’s 1st half , Tommy McDonald back in next week. Weid has to lift and take a contested mark.

We’ll finish the game 15.14 😁

No 6 goals 20 comin up

any chance a tall forward could be near the goals when we kick it to the square

There's been a few turnovers downfield just because of his hussle

Been performing quite poorly all year.

We are blazing away, just kicking long to any old contest and expecting to kick goals. And we aren't.
Time to go smaller up forward and get Fritta and BBB room to lead. Play Weid higher up the ground and max or dogga to stay out.

Aside from some sloppy play through the ground, a few guys being really quiet and some strange disposal choices, we should be in front by a few goals at least. Goals win games and I'll back us in to turn it around in the second half. There's no way we can keep missing, right? RIGHT!!?

Anyway.

We'll pile on 12 to 3 from here and Bowey will get to sing again.

We do not need to do anything but put that foot all through the big sticks. We are beating them in nearly every stat  we need to be more clinical, lead to the right spots and kick through the footy.

No no no The coach knows what's he's doing..Weid just needs a season of consecutive games to gain confidence

  • CASEY: Richmond

The winds finally returned to Casey Fields for the Demons’ third home game of the VFL season, and its impact was immediate. After two opening rounds played in uncharacteristically fine conditions, the Anzac Day clash brought back the familiar gusty conditions that have been a feature of the region at this time of the year.
Forced to kick into the breeze first, the slow-starting Demons faced a tricky opening against an enthusiastic young Tigers outfit. Casey responded by turning the contest into a scramble, pressuring Richmond into errors and missed targets. The tactic proved crucial, keeping the game tight for three and a half quarters before the Demons pulled away with the autumn wind at their backs.

  • REPORT: Richmond

It seemed as if the whole purpose of the Anzac Eve clash at the MCG between the Demons and the Tigers was building toward that single, unforgettable moment when Kozzie Pickett soared above Campbell Gray and all but fittingly etched his name onto the face of the 2026 Frank ‘Checker’ Hughes Medal.
