This is a great little promotionย

Max reads it really well.ย
We now have old and new Traditions and we can be proud of them both.ย

2021 is just the beginningย

ย

When I saw it pop up in my emails I assumed it was a promotion for a generic bottle of gin or the like with a Melbourne sticker slapped on it.ย

Is this just a membership promotion?

Partly but a Club promotion above allย

I was thinking Fire Water

ย

I'm with The Jackson 6 on this.

These types of promos are usually a little cringey and this one is no exception.

I thought it was fine. We obviously couldn't get the rights to a 39 second loop of Bang Bang Bang, which is really all you needed to promote the dees in 2022.

Obviously for home consumption. A membership promo. Itโ€™s well done and emotional for those with red and blue blood. However, I also find it a bit cringy. I would prefer to focus on what happens on the field. Let the way the side plays and results do the talking. Thatโ€™s the way to gain respect and become a formidable club.ย

Decent promo. But what I don't get is this statement: 'The Demons spirit was forged in fire...''

Perhaps someone in the club really loves the History Channel's programme Forged in Fire, where a bunch of rednecks make swords/knives?

Isn't moonshine forged with fire?

I have to somewhat agree, however I think itโ€™s a little less cringe because we won the GF last season.ย

Nothing will ever be as cringe as Carltonโ€™s โ€œCan you smell what weโ€™re cookingโ€ campaign. ย  A big oleโ€™ [censored] thatโ€™s apparently still bubbling away.ย

Rather be burned alive than endure 57 years of pain, so i'd say it's apt.

Not as cringe but not far behind was their โ€œThey Know Weโ€™re Comingโ€ campaign of about 12 years ago. Maybe theyโ€™re still coming, theyโ€™re just taking their sweet time. ๐Ÿ˜

Fox Footy are advertising what looks like an MFC 2021 doco on 8th March.

Little trailer for it kicking around at the moment.

They must be using an early version sat nav which is taking them the long way.

Feels closer to a scene from Demon Attack * than some of the clubโ€™s more recent work.

ย

*This is by no means an insult to Demon Attack. Like Dumb & Dumber it was genius, ย but you just canโ€™t recreate classics.

โ€ฆnot even. Melways (1982 edition) including the obligatory missing pages.ย

Removed an oxymoron meaning Iโ€™ll sleep tonight. ๐Ÿ˜…

ย

Ugh.

Comes across very much like something dreamt up by a corporate type with no feeling for the club culture and itโ€™s supporter base at all. Underwhelming to say the least.

Seems like a wasted opportunity to use 'We are Melbourne, through & through.'

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmyโ€™s inclusive bannerโ€”"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwoodโ€™s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.ย

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecastโ€”20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze โ€” expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kateโ€™s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwoodโ€™s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.
