meth coke have an amazingly strong record of being a finals side  - they've only finished outside the 5 / 6 / 8 nine times in their existence (twice in their first three years), and even then they've only dropped into the bottom few on half those occasions (and used that as an opportunity to 'bounce' back up the ladder quickly with good drafting and trading)

they've already been rumoured to be 'into' tim english from the dogs and logan mcdonald from sydney, have a heap of players due to roll off big salaries soon, and are, arguably, the wealthiest club in the competition

Did they win the 2021 flag though?

Tx WCW. Demonstone would be proud.

So, the Demons have finally been knocked off their perch after the Dockers thrashed the Eagles yesterday. The thrashing in Perth assured Freo of top spot on the 2022 pre season ladder with only today’s Richmond v Geelong blockbuster replay of the 2020 grand final to complete the opening round.

Fremantle 1 - - 141 44 320.5 4
Melbourne 1 - - 132 44 300.0 4
Brisbane 1 - - 138 49 281.6 4
Collingwood 1 - - 111 45 246.7 4 *
Gold Coast 1 - - 76 55 138.2 4
GWS Giants 1 - - 126 95 132.6
Carlton 1 - - 67 60 111.7 4
Essendon 1 - - 81 75 108.0 4

————————————————————

Western Bulldogs - 1 - 75 81 92.6 0
St Kilda - 1 - 60 67 89.6 0
Sydney Swans - 1 - 95 126 75.4 0
Port Adelaide - 1 - 55 76 72.4 0
Hawthorn - 1 - 44 111 39.6 0 *
Adelaide - 1 - 49 138 35.5 0
North Melbourne - 1 - 44 132 33.3 0
West Coast Eagles - 1 - 44 141 31.2 0

* The anomaly of the round was the Collingwood v Hawthorn game played over six quarters (sixths) which ended in a 141 all draw but I’ve only counted the serious part which was the first three quarters that saw the Pies well in front at the not so final siren. The rest of that game was a bit like this series - somewhat Mickey Mouse.

I've heard that Grindr can get pretty tense at times.

Lathlain Park I’m WA as well, Goschs Paddock looks like Modewarre 3rds ground compared to these local ovals.

Another reason to stay at Casey in 2022

West Coast

Cox, Nic Nat, Tim English - really?

Oh well. At least we get the double chance.

If the eagles are chasing Tim English then maybe Jackson has already told them no, you would think west coast would want Jackson before English

The Tigers win over the Cats sees the Bombers fall out of the top 8.

Indeed ... because Malthouse is so widely respected !!!

Couldn't pick a winner in a one horse race.

I hope he has predicted us to miss the 8 again, like he did last year.

And their supporters are insufferable. And 1990, 1991, 1994 & 2018 - that's why they're one of my most hated club's.

yeah i made a mistake in my post - they're not a club, they're a franchise 😈

I guess it is pretty early to make judgements but having watched most of these

practice games all the other teams apart from ours looked very disorganised.

Our systems are looking strong like our playing list

As someone mentioned on this thread the only team

I thought had outplayed us last yr was GWS. They were cruelled by

injuries last year.

So good to see West Coast struggling. 6 key players injured. Shepperd retired early. Darling and anti vax tard.

Watched the highlights of Cats and Tigers. Geez the Tigers looked like they took a step back in time. Cats have seriously adjusted their game plan too but not sure it will be enough. Both look the goods for 2022. I get it’s only praccy matches but I think On that performance they are both a top 8 side.

  • POSTGAME: Collingwood

Despite effectively playing against four extra opponents, the Dees controlled much of the match. However, their inaccuracy in front of goal and inability to convert dominance in clearances and inside 50s ultimately cost them dearly, falling to a heartbreaking one-point loss on King’s Birthday.

  • CASEY: Collingwood

It was freezing cold at Mission Whitten Stadium where only the brave came out in the rain to watch a game that turned out to be as miserable as the weather.
The Casey Demons secured their third consecutive victory, earning the four premiership points and credit for defeating a highly regarded Collingwood side, but achieved little else. Apart perhaps from setting the scene for Monday’s big game at the MCG and the Ice Challenge that precedes it.
Neither team showcased significant skill in the bleak and greasy conditions, at a location that was far from either’s home territory. Even the field umpires forgot where they were and experienced a challenging evening, but no further comment is necessary.
