Just watched the first 2022 episode. Well, that's 38 minutes of my life I'll never get back. Still, They are likeable dudes, and sometimes even funny. But only sometimes. I liked the way they encased further cobwebs around that bulldust Herald Sun gutter-soufflé stuff about Goodwin.

How many times did they ‘digress’?

Who knows? Who can count past 15 these days?

About halfway through Maxy mentioned the lone supporter who peers over the fence to watch all the training sessions. He must be talking about @picket fence

Podcast mentioned that Oskar Baker is out of the wingers club as he is being played off half back.

Yes it was mentioned in Scoop Juniors last training post

Dont think that its me he is refering to,as a supporter has been backing his cab chassis back and sits on a chair and watches training near the entrance. He is very very keen and loves the Dees!

You need to introduce this fella to demonland picket. We can use all the trackwatchers we can get.👍

That's doing it in style.

I agree it was quite a frivolous affair.

They mentioned Jack Viney as potential interviewee next week. Should be an interesting contrast, Max and Gus light-hearted style v the no nonsense Jack Viney. The dynamic between them will be interesting to observe

A somewhat meandering affair I’m afraid! A bit of gossip, a bit of news: a bit too unstructured for my taste.

Nice to see Benny G still getting a run I think that he rose in stature around the club during the finals series doing what ever needed to be done including covering as water boy. But agree it was like watching them find their feet for 2022, glad that Baker is getting a run off half back, looks like Rosman and Howes have taken over the wings. I hope the first round goes better than the first episode. Lol!!!

Ben Gibson is a really good acquisition, from the first day he walked in.

Our Media output has improved so much since he arrived. No offense to those before him, but some kids just know how to do the job, and do it

I'm a bit worried about Gus's future in media management. That first episode was painful to sit through albeit for the 5 minutes of humour and silliness injected by Gawny.

I get the need to have a laugh and not take the whole show too seriously but surely they spend a bit of time talking about preparation, pre-season or what ever has been happening from a footy perspective - dont need to dedicate the full show, just 5-10 minutes will surely quench the thirst of diehard footy supporters (i.e DL) who want a detailed account of how every player faired in every training drill conducted (joke). Maybe this is a deliberate attempt to not place too much expectation on the team or that its only pre-season etc, but we have all heard that there are a number of players running PB's, looking sharp on the track etc. In all fairness Gus did mention Oliver is nigh impossible to tackle, which is exactly the stuff we are after.

My highlight was how happy Gawn was with himself in the justification of (hypothetically) playing the GF over attending his son's birth - quote was something along the lines of it has taken him 13 years of trying, commitment and persistence to win his first GF, whereas it only took 3 mins to make his son.

I think the show benefits when they've got a previous match and next match to talk about. Gives it a bit of structure.

The Demons have slumped to their worst start to a season since 2012, falling to 0–4 after a more spirited showing against the Cats at Kardinia Park. Despite the improved effort, they went down by 39 points, and the road ahead is looking increasingly grim.

"It's officially time for some alarm bells. I'm concerned about the lack of impact from their best players." This comment about one of the teams contesting this Friday night’s game came earlier in the week from a so-called expert radio commentator by the name of Kane Cornes. He wasn’t referring to the Melbourne Football Club but rather, this week’s home side, Geelong. The Cats are purring along with 1 win and 2 defeats and a percentage of 126.2 (courtesy of a big win at GMHBA Stadium in Round 1 vs Fremantle) which is one win more than Melbourne and double the percentage so I guess that, in the case of the Demons, its not just alarm bells, but distress signals. But don’t rely on me. Listen to Cornes who said this week about Melbourne:- “They can’t run. If you can’t run at speed and get out of the contest then you’re in trouble.
