Injury List: Round 17

Max Gawn - Ankle | Test
Luke Jackson - Knee | Test
Blake Howes - Foot | 1-2 Weeks
Andy Moniz-Wakefield - Groin |  1-2 Weeks
Daniel Turner - Face | 1-2 Weeks
Joel Smith - Ankle | 2-4 Weeks
Tom McDonald - Foot | 8-10 Weeks

It is weird that TMc is still 8-10.

Goodwin said last week he didn't know why it was listed as 8-10 when he said 6-7.

Maybe he is now 5-6 weeks.

I think TMc coming back this season is wishfull thinking

From AFL site…

Melbourne has also given important forward Tom McDonald renewed hope of returning this season, reducing the timeframe on his return to "eight to 10 weeks" as he recovers from a foot problem.’

With a bye at the end of the home and away games, that would give TMac some slight hope of playing but he would have to incorporate some sort of mid-season with the next 8 to 10 weeks.

He’s probably an outside chance at best.

Absolutely no chance he is barely walking

Cannot afford underprepared players in a final (unless they are Steven May)

The fact that he’s “barely walking” today doesn’t mean you can write him off for 2022 if the doctor believes he’s an 8 - 10 week proposition today. If that remains the case in 2 - 4 week’s time then perhaps the prognosis might change.

Strange about AMW. He was omitted from the Casey side last week because he was being managed. Turns out he has a groin injury.

Maybe his groin injury was being managed.

Speculating but...!.Clarry has a Broken thumb and will miss 4-5 with it!

I hope not but....given his level of discomfort, I would not be surprised!!

I can never tell with hand injuries, sometimes they're 2 x weeks and sometimes 5.

Even some players who have had surgery have only missed 1 week.

Ridiculous to be trying to guess at this now.

Just bruised, according to Goody.  I hope he's right.

Yeah could have just been a massive stinger that may swell up a bit but hopefully no bone damage.

Does a GOAT have a thumb? Not sure of the logistics of the hoof .

At least a decent break until our next game.

  • CASEY: Richmond

The match up of teams competing in our great Aussie game at its second highest level is a rarity for a work day Thursday morning but the blustery conditions that met the players at a windswept Casey Fields was something far more commonplace. They turned the opening stanza between the Casey Demons and a somewhat depleted Richmond VFL into a mess of fumbling unforced errors, spilt marks and wasted opportunities for both sides but they did set up a significant win for the home team which is exactly what transpired on this Anzac Day round opener. Casey opened up strong against the breeze with the first goal to Aidan Johnson, the Tigers quickly responded and the game degenerated into a defensive slog and the teams were level when the first siren sounded.
