Time to reverse the narrative and ditch the negativity. Only positive vibrations from now on.

How good would Back 2 Back at the G be?

Not sure about veils, but they come in glasses form (with a lovely rose tint to boot).

Bet on Melbourne premiership into Adelaide making the 8. Burgess can transform teams, Adelaide will be good next year. We will still be the best.

I was thinking this about Adelaide yesterday, I'd be surprised if they don't improve massively.

You're probably right, they're coming from a fair way back. Carlton are another that I wouldn't be surprised to see bounce back in a big way next year.

Anyway, back on topic - hell yes we'll be winning again in 2022!!!

Forget back to back.

I'm already thinking about where to hang my 4peat memorabilia.

I am going to enjoy the ride.

After pining for the Dees to be premiership contenders it all crystallised and came to fruition in the space of three months.

This is going to be fun.

Nervous, unbearable fun.

Yep. Funny how our whole lives it’s been: building, building, WHOOPS, building, building, WHOOPS, building building… up until 2018 on: building, WHOOPS, building, builOMG WE’RE HERE ALL OF A SUDDEN.

I’ve honestly got no idea what my expectations are for the next few years, but it will be the first time we go in to a season KNOWING we’ve got the ingredients for success. Scary new territory, but I’m up for it.

The humble part of me thinks just 1 more Premiership at the MCG would be nice. Just so I can experience a Premiership at the MCG with my Dad.

The greedy part of me think we need at least 5 more Premierships for the 5 decades that we missed out! Let's over take Carlton and Essendon with their 16 Premierships!

Realistically, with the youth and talent in our team another 2 or 3 Premierships are possible.

We will have to wait and see how hungry the Demons players are for more success I guess?

I see back to back as realistic. No doubt it will be extremely difficult, historically backing up a a granny has been rare. On our side though, is that success has become increasingly cyclic (Brisbane, Cats, Hawthorn, Tigers). We are in the sweet spot now and have a real tail wind. We need to be absolutely relentless in our preparation and drive because others will have watched that finals series and be coming for us with a plan. We need to be better than last year, but with around 7 players in the best 22 at age 21 and below we can reasonably expect improvement even without considering drafting or trading.

If they dont get sucked into the hype, this team have the opportunity to back it up.  Other teams have to improve significantly to challenge us at our best.  They will be trying that in the off season, we have to just keep executing better and better a system and culture that has many successes still in it.

THE ACCIDENTAL DEMONS by The Oracle

In the space of eight days, the Melbourne Football Club’s plans for the coming year were turned upside down by two season-ending injuries to players who were contending strongly for places in its opening round match against the GWS Giants. Shane McAdam was first player to go down with injury when he ruptured an Achilles tendon at Friday afternoon training, a week before the cut-off date for the AFL’s pre-season supplemental selection period (“SSP”). McAdam was beginning to get some real mom

RETURN TO NORMAL by Whispering Jack

One of my prized possessions is a framed, autographed guernsey bearing the number 31 worn by my childhood hero, Melbourne’s champion six time premiership player Ronald Dale Barassi who passed away on 16 September 2023, aged 87. The former captain who went on to a successful coaching career, mainly with other clubs, came back to the fold in his later years as a staunch Demon supporter who often sat across the way from me in the Northern Stand of the MCG cheering on the team. Barassi died the
