I have watched the round 23 match several times and still can believe we won but it is that belief by the players that got them to dig themselves out of the 19 point defict against the Bulldogs and going on to win the game, the siren sounded at 3 quarter time and the coach warned them that the Bulldogs recovered from being 21 point down at quarter time and getting to 19 points up so pressure and scoring would be the key in the first 10 minutes of the last quarter.

Nice to see their reactions

Hunt is up and about, feel sorry for him.

Lovely seeing the fringe players/young brigade excited.

Not much of a reaction from Vanders/Melky - playing it very cool in the older heads section aha

Sorry mate that was my bad. I should have clarified I wasn't commenting on the photos and put my comments in context.

The photos of the parade made me realise how frustrated I was that the 2021 celebrations are in Perth and don't have the true die hards in the background.

Im so happy we won but I am so frustrated I can't celebrate with you all.

I'd hug everyone in sight i reckon. No offence intended but I feel like those who were there aren't the true die hard Dee fans who should be the ones in the celebrations.

Sorry is just me I'm just frustrated

Now is the time to correct a couple of errors.

Spargo, I thought he was crap and now has a GF medal.

Carlton would win a GF before us. Hmm!

The coach would never get us there. Still think the big improvement came from the new assistants. But he  is the head coach and he did what no one else has done in 57 years.

I'd say Melk and Vanders had a pretty good idea they were not likely to be part of that team going forward - footy is a very very tough game

I was thinking when the DVD comes out, it would be good to have an alternate commentary track without BT.

We can all dream.

Im 33 pages in of 44.  Been reading 10 pages at a time.  Savouring it.  Loving it.  But I need now to also express myself.

It's all been said by all of you on here, but [censored] me dead, that was like living a dream for 40 minutes.  My text to mates simply said:  No more jokes, no more mockery.  I wore my jumper for the first time these last few days with a pride I'd never felt..  Always when I wore it people looked at me with a combination of pity/concern/or a look of 'you [censored] [censored]".

Like many others on here, there were no tears, which I expected.  Just pure elation and dis-[censored]-belief.  The relief like nothing Ive ever felt before.  Had my mad 12 and 8 year old Demon supporting sons on each side of me from go to wo.  What a night!

As I said it's all been said.  But I haven't  apologised to Neal Bullen.  So, Nibbler, sorry for doubting you.  His last 4 matches his best 4 matches of his career.  Flawless in the granny.  Absolutely effing flawless, composed, disposed of it accurately.  Focus on this bloke on the replays.  Didn't put a foot wrong. Like most, if not all,  others.

Great job WA Demons and other people that flew our flag and supported us.  You legends.

Nev, Jonesy, Vanders and Jayden Hunt (the  unluckiest of all to miss out) - love your work.  Have always loved it.  I hope Jayden wins a flag with us next year.

When we are allowed back at the G to have the Melbourne/Victorian celebration, we are all going to lose our minds. I intend to.   It draws out our celebratory period in some ways, which is another bonus, like basking in the glory of being in a granny for 2 weeks instaed of the usual 1 week.  So I'll see you all there.

Thanks also to this demonland community.  Many years ago when I came across this site I was so pleased.  Still am.

Reflected on this with some mates...the game was so absorbing that I didn't even notice that BT was commentating.

Amazing, unbelievable, Tears of joy to finally watch the Demos win a Flag!!!

The joy of watching a Flag with my 23yo son who cried his eyes out and not have him say why did you make follow the MFC & not wait for 50years like his dad!

The planets lined up 57 year drought, Im 57, Norm Smith died at 57, we kicked 57 points in the last qtr!

The score after Brayshaw goal in the 3rd qtr was 9 10 64...thats spooky

The ghosts of 87,88 & 2000 buried!

Does anyone have vision of Demon supporters going off either at the ground or at home, just find it really inspiring

I filmed myself for the whole game, but that ain't seeing the light of day!

This one goes alright though. Caden MacDonald, professional footy nuffy but still pretty raw in his reactions:

Remember when you couldn’t win the premiership as minor premiers?

I remember when the Tigers were going to win the premiership because they'd won 3 out of 6 games and that was "right where they wanted to be!"

Love Choco's cheeky expression when asked the question.

It really didn’t matter much what he answered in words. That look on his face spoke volumes. I kept stopping it to go back to look at his expression several times. It’s priceless!

Just gold this stuff gets me all emotional again

Watching the second half now 😄 Fritta just kicked the first goal of the avalanche. We were really on the ropes, the Dogs were marking everything and we just looked like we needed a goal out of anything. The change is incredible.

Considering that all year we weren’t exactly a team that got goals from centre clearances, then suddenly the Prelim and GF! Dogga huge!

Well I went to work today in the office in Brisbane and wore my Dees jersey. My voice is still shot and I still smell like a raging alcoholic but this was one of the best days at work I have had

Also I have never had so many strangers coming up to me to say well done and how happy they were that we won.

I never want this feeling to end. How glorious it is.

GO U MIGHTY DEMONS. 👹😈🏆

If you remember.
When the cats had us 40pts down in rd23.
Goodwin put Dogga in the ruck and the comeback began.
Was huge that day too.

Don't worry, circa 2019 I called Lever an expensive half back flanker.  Shows what I know!

  • POSTGAME: Collingwood

Despite effectively playing against four extra opponents, the Dees controlled much of the match. However, their inaccuracy in front of goal and inability to convert dominance in clearances and inside 50s ultimately cost them dearly, falling to a heartbreaking one-point loss on King’s Birthday.

  • CASEY: Collingwood

It was freezing cold at Mission Whitten Stadium where only the brave came out in the rain to watch a game that turned out to be as miserable as the weather.
The Casey Demons secured their third consecutive victory, earning the four premiership points and credit for defeating a highly regarded Collingwood side, but achieved little else. Apart perhaps from setting the scene for Monday’s big game at the MCG and the Ice Challenge that precedes it.
Neither team showcased significant skill in the bleak and greasy conditions, at a location that was far from either’s home territory. Even the field umpires forgot where they were and experienced a challenging evening, but no further comment is necessary.
