If we win this game, I may finally accept the fact that we might actually possibly be contenders for the premiership in 2021.

Time to hit the sack, not sleep, and wake up to what will either the best day ever, or one filled with the familiar feeling of disappointment.

MFCSS IS IN OVERDRIVE.

Slept like a log until 4am, but I didn’t sleep a wink from then on, very nervous.

Have a great day everyone, we all deserve to enjoy it, and fingers crossed we get the job done.

We’re already talking bodily function in the first ever Demonland GF Match Day thread.

I don’t know why, but this has really hit home for me.

I’ve been posting on here (mostly garbage) since 2005 and my life has changed a lot in that time but Demonland has been a constant throughout.

While most of us are stuck in our homes it has more than been the football community we all need, so thank you @Demonlandfor giving us nuffies somewhere to vent and connect with fellow Melbourne fans.

omg it’s finally here!! and i want / hope/ wish to be expressing the same feeling late tonight. GO DEES!!!

Thanks Demonland for making the football more enjoyable, Andy, George, & Binman for the podcast - great body of work!

To all the rest of the fans on Demonland, may you end the day Deliriously Happy!!

Keep this piece of play in the back of your mind from the PF, where cats were out and looked sure to kick a goal, Demons chased desperately, and rather than Cats goal, Brayshaw smothers a pressured kick over the boundary line.
That act of desperation when the game was over exemplifies why we win today! 57 years of joy coming up!

GO DEMONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am off to bed over here.. don’t think I will get much sleep.

see you in the morning when I cook the pancakes for breakfast.

I don't understand this eery feeling of calmness. Apart from the odd flash of MFCSS inspired doubt, I'm not at all nervous. Maybe things will change as the day progresses, but right now, I think I finally trust our team.

Go DEES!

Butterflies in the stomach all week, think I've seen every snippet of media involving us. Today's the day we become a BIG Club again and truly get the respect our jumper deserves.

GO DEMONS 🔴🔵

Good morning everyone - I’ll be on a self-imposed media ban til first bounce, so enjoy the game - it’s been a long time coming - and see you on the other side! Come On The Dees

The day has finally arrived. Time to send these doggies off to Trash Island.

2 big steaks for the smoker. A box of cans and Churchill should get me through the afternoon in style.

Can't wait.

Life defining game

Woke up at 4 a.m and couldn't get back to sleep.

Go Dees!

Crap, got drunk last night in the hope of a sleep in but up at 6am

only 13 hours to go!

diddily!

I never thought I'd see the day of a game day thread on GRAND FINAL DAY.

I hope everyone enjoys the occasion and we bring it home, very proud of our boys.

Now time to crack my first beer of many to settle this nerves. GO DEES!

To the Max!

It has been a long, long two weeks but we made it! Today’s the day long suffering Dees fans have been waiting for. Years of lurking on this forum has shown me the despair, the anger and frustration my fellow landers have been through.  Embrace the day, enjoy the ride and let’s hope the Dees [censored] smash em! Go Dees!!!

I saw an interview yesterday where Trac said we hadn't won a premiership since 1967, which made me think. Unlike our scarred supporter base these players aren't weighed down with the baggage of the past and for the most part their knowledge of the Melbourne Football Club dates back only to the time they were drafted and placed in the hands of our fantastic football department. They are young, hungry to win and know no fear.

Can we all collectively agree to not post on the  ‘Is Goodwin the right guy’ thread, win or lose?

WTF (double up) It’s time James!

After believing all year, I was having a bit of an MFCSS panic last night, because as good as we've been, on the day anything could happen.  So I re-watched the first three quarters of the Geelong PF to calm my nerves.  For the past 5 years I've wanted us to finish top 4, to set us up for a genuine crack at the big one.  And now we are here.

Plan to setup a TV in my outdoor entertaining space to watch pre game shows etc while having a few pre game beers to calm the nerves have a bbq and then head upstairs for the big game.  Need to pace myself, because it could get kind of messy if I go too early.  NRL neighbors arn't going need to watch the game to get a score update.

Fellow Demonlanders in the word of Goody The Great - Lets just be us (not sure how that translates to Demonland, but anyways).  Thanks for your comradery.  Strangely, over the years, I have enjoyed the ride and hope to be back here sometime tomorrow morning posting in a delirious half drunk celebratory mood.

When looking back at the disastrous end to the game, I find it a waste of time to concentrate on the final few moments when utter confusion reigned. Forget the 6-6-6 mess, the failure to mark the most dangerous man on the field, the inability to seal the game when opportunities presented themselves to Clayton Oliver, Harry Petty and Charlie Spargo, the vision of match winning players of recent weeks in Kozzy Pickett and Jake Melksham spending helpless minutes on the interchange bench and the powerlessness of seizing the opportunity to slow the tempo of the game down in those final moments.

  • CASEY: Sandringham

The Casey Demons rebounded from a sluggish start to manufacture a decisive win against Sandringham in the final showdown, culminating a quarter century of intense rivalry between the fluctuating alignments of teams affiliated with AFL clubs Melbourne and St Kilda, as the Saints and the Zebras prepare to forge independent paths in 2026. After conceding three of the first four goals of the match, the Demons went on a goal kicking rampage instigated by the winning ruck combination of Tom Campbell with 26 hitouts, 26 disposals and 13 clearances and his apprentice Will Verrall who contributed 20 hitouts. This gave first use of the ball to the likes of Jack Billings, Bayley Laurie, Riley Bonner and Koltyn Tholstrup who was impressive early. By the first break they had added seven goals and took a strong grip on the game. The Demons were well served up forward early by Mitch Hardie and, as the game progressed, Harry Sharp proved a menace with a five goal performance. Emerging young forwards Matthew Jefferson and Luker Kentfield kicked two each but the former let himself down with some poor kicking for goal.
Young draft talent Will Duursma showed the depth of his talent and looks well out of reach for Melbourne this year. Kalani White was used sparingly and had a brief but uneventful stint in the ruck.

The Demons return to the scene of the crime on Saturday to face the wooden spooners the Eagles at the Docklands. Who comes in and who goes out? Like moving deck chairs on the Titanic.

It's Game Day and there are only 5 games to go. Can the Demons find some consistency and form as they stagger towards the finish line of another uninspiring season?
