Congrats Jim Toumpas I mean Ollie Wines.

If we took wines we probably don't take Clayton. I know who I prefer

Now the sideshow is over.... get out there and bring home the flag boys !

Anyone know Clarrys stats against Adelaide?

Oliver 28 possesions 15 contested 7 tackles,Seedsman 36, Keys 29. Obviously too lazy to assess on the park, just looked at the stats after the game

Hopefully a Brownlow loss fires us up even more. Bontempelli will get a big head and so will all his Doggie mates!

28. 2 behinds.
Not his best.
I’m just confused how a man that kicks 7 goals gets less votes when his team wins by 41 points than two players on a losing side.
The mind boggles.

Can someone keep an eye out for how that Crows game votes are reported in the media, please? It sure is a way out outlier!

Oliver was robbed.

I’m sure Clarry would rather a premiership medal than a Brownlow. The most overrated medal in the game.

gave up giving a rats about this award years ago   come join me

votes from the coaches or votes from the maggots?

know which one I'd take

Watch the replay again.

Fritsch kicked a bag in junk time. Not worth more than 1 vote.

Worthy winner. Well done Ollie Wines. But boy, some of the voting looks skewed.

  • Touk Miller and David Mundy must feel really robbed. Not enough reward for outstanding seasons.
  • Dees v Adelaide round 22. Seedsman 3 votes, Fritsch none (???)
  • Darcy Parish was good but not that good - no way.
  • The GWS young backman who annihilated Hawkins late in the year - no vote!!

And the goal of the year - Reiwoldt was flat out robbed. Bolton's was a great mark, but Riewoldt's is one for the ages.

Bont looks like his ready to cry. Definitely was more invested in this then he led on

Very happy to see a brownlow medalist from the club I played for! Congratulations  Ollie

Glad it’s over

Focus on the real stuff now

Bont will be rattled…

Coaches votes were:

Fritsch - 10

Seedsman - 8

Tracc - 6

Keays didn’t poll a vote, neither did Clarry.

Well done Ollie Wines, even if it is a fantastically silly little award. Echuca’s had a big night! We presume you’re backing your best mate Jack Viney this weekend. Well done also to Marcus Bontempelli for winning the AFLPA MVP. And the best player in the AFL, as voted by those whose opinions matter most - objectively and analytically - well done to Clayton Oliver for winning the AFL Coaches Award, an honour made even more significant  by winning a 2021 Premiership Medal, and the Norm Smith Medal.

oops….meant to save this for Sunday morn….

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.

  • POSTGAME: Western Bulldogs

The Demons lacked some polish but showed a lot of heart and took it right up to the Bulldogs in an attempt to spoil their finals hopes ultimately going down by a goal at the MCG.
