Looking forward to the Doggies smashing the Bombers next week!!

Lions game had 24 extra seconds added to 4 th q , afl run for cover

Just to reiterate how insane this round has been for the Bulldogs, the difference between them finishing 1st and 5th in the last round:

1) 2 point loss after leading all game

2) McCarthy scraping through a behind against West Coast (ignore Cameron’s after siren goal for a moment)

3) Max Gawn kicking an after the siren goal (something he has missed before against same opposition) after his team was 44 points down

I cannot remember a better round for football ever.

Hopefully the Dockers get up over St Kilda today.

Then we can watch Essendon play for their spot. Their fans will be sweating bullets. Just a pity they’re playing Collingwood who are absolutely no good - hopefully the pies decide to play out of their skin to deny their arch rivals a finals berth.

If St Kilda win, Pies and Bombers is a dead rubber.

It’s a disgrace. Dogs were very hard done by

What happened there Satan? Heard Jordan Lewis talk a little about it, was it a time keeper error?

To make this a perfect weekend we need Freo to beat St Kilda and the bombers to sheet the bed against the pies. Long odds of that happening but its been a crazy weekend so who knows.

So the perfect day today is Freo winning getting into the 8 then Collingwood beating Essendon to deny them a finals berth

2017 anyone?

Today would be one of the few day in my existence that I want to see the filth win. Then again it won't matter if the saints stuff everything up and win.

I’ve never known a club to get as many injuries game day as Freo. Genuinely, almost ever week they have two injured prior to half time. Today’s an example of that.

Saints getting up over the Dockers takes most of the fun out of watching Bombers Vs Pies.

If this game were a horse you'd pull a screen around it and put it out of it's misery.

Fremantle are a pretty disappointing club.

Gee Freo & west coast are disappointing this weekend. At least make Essendon earn there spot in the 8 & not just give it to them.

Now it will be worse if Collingwood win

St Kilda are real spoil sports. They should have done the decent thing, let Freo win and make the Bombers sweat

  • NON-MFC: 2026 Opening Round

Finally the 2026 AFL Premiership Season is upon us. While Melbourne sits out Opening Round, there is still plenty of footy to enjoy with five non-MFC clashes to kick off the new season. It all begins on Thursday night with a blockbuster at the SCG as Sydney hosts Carlton in what should be a strong early test for both sides. On Friday night, Gold Coast gets its chance to open the season in front of a home crowd when the Suns and Christian Petracca take on Geelong at People First Stadium. Saturday features a double-header, starting in the afternoon with Greater Western Sydney and Clayton Oliver meeting the Hawks at Engie Stadium. That is followed on Saturday night by Brisbane Lions hosting the Western Bulldogs at the Gabba, with the Lions embarking on their campaign to win the Threepeat. Opening Round wraps up on Sunday night at the MCG, where St Kilda takes on Collingwood in the only game in town in the first week of the season. There is no shortage of storylines across the round, so discuss all the action from the non-MFC games of Opening Round.
