Thank god one of our players lowered their eyes, great pass Jackson

Nice work in the clinches there... Lingers going ok just wish he'd stop bombing it.  Nice finish from Dogga & BB

Brown actually has 3 goals before quarter time. Pity the video ump squibbed it.

I'd consider dropping Fritsch for McDonald. It's between him and Melsham IMO for that 3rd tall spot, and Melk has more tricks.

Jackson is such a smart footballer - that kick to BBB was so imaginative.

Phew. Was sure we’d concede a goal in Melbourne time then.

Shocking decision that touch off the boot nowhere near the ball.

Who are these people making the decisions?

Fritsch is a dumb footballer sometimes

Melksham sure has more upside than Bailey

Brown is on.

Win the clearances as we should and he will kick 6-8 today.

Imagine thinking Weideman was better than Brown.

Anyone who thought that had no idea.

I wanted Brown in from day dot, and was a bit puzzled when he was dropped based on a mediocre performance on a wet deck with way too many talls (all 3 + Gawn and Jackson played that day vs Carlton).

Been the difference at stoppages and contested ground ball so far

Fritsch didn't make that contest on wing with 15 seconds to go

Zero stats to 1QT and a free against

Just poor

Really sloppy first quarter. Only for BB and their poor kicking we'd be in real trouble

Amazing some people thought so.

Needed the extra pre season though Chook.  Multiple leads, strength in contest and ground ball follow up.  Might play in our favour now touch wood.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
