Straight Sets Simon 23,113 Posted August 9, 2021 Posted August 9, 2021 Say what you like about Melksham (I’ve said a lot) at least he can kick the ball which is something we need. Bowey looks like a 100 game veteran, didn’t see that happening so quickly. 6
Webber 10,650 Posted August 9, 2021 Posted August 9, 2021 It’s disgraceful umpiring, but we know that’s 90% odds-on to happen over there, worth about 6 goals a game. The bigger question is why we’re slowing the game down at the wrong times. No run-past, no quick decision making to expose their lack of speed. They also beat us in contested ball that quarter. Don’t correct that, we don’t win, particularly not with their crowd umpire advantages. Simples. 4

Need Tracc and Fritter to get more involved Frisch doesn’t like playing in the rain, he gets wet. Gawn needs to stand up big time and lead this team to a win. Been in a slump for too long. 2
DeeZee 7,496 Posted August 9, 2021 Posted August 9, 2021 Frittatas opponent is wearing him like a glove. They would’ve identified him as our leading goal kicker and put some work into him. 1

We are an absolute rubbish football team without them being switched on. It really concerns me. If either of them gets injured or suspended, we are a mess. Those two need to pull us out of the hole again because the rest of our midfield are pluggers Name a team that isn’t completely reliant on their two best players? It’s an odd thing to be annoyed about. 1
dazzledavey36 56,332 Posted August 9, 2021 Posted August 9, 2021 Luke Jackson is close to BOG. This is close to the best game I've seen him play at AFL level. 11
Deecisive 1,709 Posted August 9, 2021 Posted August 9, 2021 the second quarter was pretty poor. our players are too slow at moving the ball on. May needs to look for open players rather than kicking down the line all the time. we need to lift and lift badly. The umpiring has not been great, but what do you expect in eagle land. Too many of our players are not chasing and putting pressure on the eagles defense or midfield.
dees189227 12,512 Posted August 9, 2021 Posted August 9, 2021 (edited) The more I see of Bowey the more I'm impressed. He just does not waste the ball. We just need to get back to what we did so well in that 1st quarter. Edited August 9, 2021 by dees189227

Graeme Yeats' Mullet 6,791 Posted August 9, 2021 Posted August 9, 2021 Melkshams effort has been reasonable so far

Rolled on to him and held him down for a good fifteen seconds. It was a fantastic goal but geez that should have been fifty but the umpires are too gutless to call it. 3
Bates Mate 4,520 Posted August 9, 2021 Posted August 9, 2021 Jackson playing a great game in the conditions , some good grabs and follow up ground work. superstar in the making
