Tonight it’s clear-cut. We have to barrack for Collingwood, right?

Port will beat the filth tonight, might be close at the half but not at the end.

North to beat the Blues.

Lions just prevail over the Suns

Eagles spank Saints.

Hawks over Crows

Swannies over Freo.

reckon Tiges push the cats hard. Can’t pick this one.

I don’t want to say it, so I won’t. But Giants won’t win.

Glad the weekend has rolled around so I have some footy to watch. Been a long week in lockdown

That Pies 22 is the worst they’ve fielded for 15 years I reckon.

stars back for Port. This will be a 10 goal drubbing

It's less than 7 days since we drew with the worst Hawthorn side they've fielded for 15 years...

I guess so, but it feels disgusting.

I know others on Demonland like the later starts on Friday night but for me love the 7.10 start.

Good start by the Pies.

Every time I see Todd Marshall I think of this amazing description from their fan forum when we beat them…

’floats around the field like a fern frond’

?

Yes it will have to be local filth over interstate filth.

North

bears

wet coke

vile garbage from kardinia park

True. And they need to jettison the fake crowd noise. It’s not necessary imo.

? Go ? pies ?!!!

I like the fake crowd noise but I think an apprentice is operating it tonight.

they need to clearly disclose the sound enhancements for every match.

Amazing that a crowd of 10k can sound like a 40k crowd.

They're doing it with the Olympics coverage as well.

Last year it was a novelty now it's a gimmick

So it's proven that 7 can schedule earlier games on a friday night if they want to. I do like the 7:10 start than the 7:50.

Pendles off now will hurt.

I think I've said this before, but I am just so grateful Nathan Jones got to celebrate his 300th in front of fans and family and I'm so happy I was there. Aside from Boak, there are some many milestone games this weekend in the past few weeks and no one to celebrate in front of.

opeing ceremony at 9 so I assume the ratings will drop to nothing for the footy

Interesting time shift for the swimming

Heats are now during the night (9pm) and finals during the day (10:30am  Melbourne time)...

Television into the Northern hemisphere one assumes

The 15 metres standard must be made of rubber.   Same umpire 2 successive kicks. First one "not 15 play on", the shorter kick "mark"

Can someone tell Abbey Holmes to tone down on the dramatics?

Pendles has got a minor knock to the leg, not a career ending fractured leg in 8 pieces.

the way they carried on i presumed he'd done an acl

Why not!   Can't stand Port and would love to see them miss the double chance / home finals.  Hec I'd love to see them miss all together.   That song pre match and Kochy always predicting they are on for the premiership every season ?

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
