The most important game of the season as far as I'm concerned.
If we make an example of anyone this year,  let it be these plicks.

Our team really needed the break (Brisbane as well). Was one more week rest longer enough? I reckon it'd be enough for our team to win next two games (vs Essendon and vs GWS). I expect Demon would get the Essendon game under the control by 3 quarter time and win by 30. Go Dees!

Well I’m off to bed. Game starts at 11.25 my time. So a watch of the game, a glass or two of wine and then a late lunch to celebrate.

I've got some beef ribs going on the smoker so it's an early start for me. But if the kids stay asleep long enough I might have to see what Mrs Josh is up to first ???

Dees by 25 points. Clarry and Tracca dominate. Petty surprises, once again.

I watched Brisbane make a statement as they pressured Geelong into submission on Thursday night.

It is the business end of the season now and it is up to us show the oppo why we are sitting on top of the ladder.

It starts with Essendon . They now have a sniff of a place in the eight. Let's knock that on the head today. Make a statement.

We will swamp their defence with rapid repeat forward entries all night. Will be a night out for our forwards.

I hate these guys with an unhealthy passion. Growing up as a kid most of my mates in school - who I'm still mates with today are Essendon. Throw in 2000 and their sniping. Throw in the drug saga and the lack of ownership to accept responsibility and be accountable. Throw in Sheedy. Throw in Jobe Watson and his inability to string two words together in commentary. Throw in my mrs and all her family are Essendon. I don't have kids yet and I haven't seen a Dees premiership yet so I haven't been to the pinnacle of true joy but beating these dogs tonight and keeping them outside the 8 where they belong would bring me no greater joy. Turn up and get the job done Dees!

I wonder if their was an influx of Dee nippers in June 1965?

Easing into this one with coffee and some King Creosote on spotify. Maybe a few clicks on the bike to follow if the sun stays out and the wind keeps away. Really looking forward to being at the 'G again tonight and I don't think our boys will disappoint. As for the margin I don't really care. Let's all just enjoy the experience and bag the 4 points.

I want to see us set the tone for the rest of the season tonight. Pressure and intensity.

Only area of concern for me is our forward set-up. We have to settle on a structure and focus on perfecting it through to finals.

Essendon will be no push-overs.  They're confidence is high. Delighted to have Viney back. He embodies the Dees spirit and fight. I don't believe we will deliver another lackluster performance while he is on the field.

We'll respond to the Collingwood defeat with a proper performance tonight. Dees win by 30 points.

Sounds like a way more interesting breakfast than what you had last week on game day ?

Ok Dees Faithful, sh*t just got real. I know, sh*t’s been real for a while but now it’s next-level real. Boss-level real. A random in the street just sledged me, “we’re gonna [censored] youse tonight” etc. Then he says, “our boys know they have to target Viney’s foot at every opportunity.” ?

MUST. WIN. TONIGHT.

❤️?❤️?❤️?

What attitude do we want to bring to the second half of the season? There’s been a fair bit of talk from the boys since the filth debacle. Are they going to walk the talk and go hunting, or are they scared of being hunted?

Time for Max to impose himself on a game, he’s well overdue. It starts and ends in the middle.

Feeling like I did before the Swans game. Knowing we’ll have a battle on our hands but (if we turn up) we should comfortably get the job done! Cmon Dees!!

Kozzie will kick 4 and Stringer will attempt to run around Rivers when taking a shot at goal and get poleaxed. Trac will kick 6.

I didn’t ask the ne’er-do-well to elaborate but I guess he meant by treading on it. He actually said Todd Viney instead of Jack but of course I let that slide.

This game really feels like the first of a new era.

Goodwin’s 100th game, top of the ladder but coming off a loss, after a week off to reset. A talisman of the club in Viney back in for the first time in a while, on our home deck after a month on the road, playing a team that could easily scalp us. So many factors at play.

Are we just early season front runners, or are we in this thing for the long haul. Tonight will tell us all so much, and set this club on one of two very different paths I feel, depending on the outcome.

Just win. Don't care how we do it. Every win is vital and there is simply no easy teams this year.

The Demons’ aggressive small forward who kicks goals and defends the Demons’ ball in the forward arc.
