Sadly covid has compromised the financial position of most clubs . We sold our home games so we could reduce our losses as our games at G were often against interstate side at bad times( how many mothers day games did we get( excluding this year)  . A couple of successful years should increase membership . Not sure when nt contract expires but hopefully soon .  A 700k loss would really hurt us

We are not alone in that problem. I was just joking about having a good side.

If not Alice then Canberra. The cool night air might hurt the bears.

Isn't it more a case of Brisbane not being able to return to Queensland or us to travel to Queensland?

Yes

Strange times, honestly, i think it would be best for everyone given it's round 11. to move the Bye forward and push the other rounds back, buy some time to assess the situation and figure out how to move forward

we know how quickly things can change with covid, and lockdowns and so on. potentially things may look a lot better in 10 days time.

Well the players have been in lockdown so hopefully the NT let us in. Harmes just said on mmm he heard a rumour the game may be in sydney.

But I feel our team was one of the best that coped with the hub last year and from hearing the players talk about it, they said it gave them a chance to work on things and fix them.

Gus said today that they just deal with what happens and his week they just dealt with the covid testing, cancelled training sessions and they are ready for anything and they won't let it distract them.

Saints or North at the G ?

North would be a perfect swap if we play next week with zero or say 50% crowds

Normal revenue plus we still get the NT money by playing them later in the year

Can’t see us being let into the NT. Game will be in QLD or NSW

So as it’s our home game surely we get to pick the venue in qld or nsw, no way would I want the Gabba gives the lions a huge advantage

There is no way we should agree to play in Queensland at all. not at the GABBA nor Carrara. The Lions can get stuffed. They were so well looked after last year. This is one of the greatest overreactions by the Government. Virtue signalling at its finest as usual. Go play in Sydney or Canberra.

Canberra hopefully ?

Hope they get to play it at Alice Springs, a Friday night top of the table clash will be great there.

Would suck to have to play at Sydney

Unless you live here (probably only applies to about 14 of us).

Ah, well I get the push then... I was just thinking as cold as it could be made for them... but having googled....1222286079_ScreenShot2021-05-29at5_34_14pm.png.7bffc10cb57e0bf33f4a78ab90183c86.png

Agreed it should be played in Brisbane, must be neutral ground if not Alice.

Giants stadium is my guess.

Yep, reckon this is more likely than Canberra, unfortunately for me

Any of Manuka, Giants Stadium or the SCG would be fine.  Staying out of Queensland should be the priority for Pert. Ideally we get to play in Alice but I can completely understand why that may not be possible.  It's unfortunate but the most at risk population in Australia lives predominantly in the NT.

I still dont get the neutural ground stuff, its our home game.

Which we sold to NT to play at a neutral venue.

Looks like we’ll have some choice of the options are QLD & NSW.

A triumphant return to Cairns would be a bold choice.

  • REPORT: Fremantle

For this year’s Easter Saturday game at the MCG, Simon Goodwin and his Demons wound the clock back a few years to wipe out the horrible memories of last season’s twin thrashings at the hands of the Dockers. And it was about time! Melbourne’s indomitable skipper Max Gawn put in a mammoth performance in shutting out his immediate opponent Sean Darcy in the ruck and around the ground and was a colossus at the end when the game was there to be won or lost. It was won by 16.11.107 to 14.13.97. There was the battery-charged Easter Bunny in Kysaiah Pickett running anyone wearing purple ragged, whether at midfield stoppages or around the big sticks. He finish with a five goal haul.

  • CASEY: UWS Giants

The Casey Demons took on an undefeated UWS Giants outfit at their own home ground on a beautiful autumn day but found themselves completely out of their depth going down by 53 points against a well-drilled and fair superior combination. Despite having 15 AFL listed players at their disposal - far more than in their earlier matches this season - the Demons were never really in the game and suffered their second defeat in a row after their bright start to the season when they drew with the Kangaroos, beat the Suns and matched the Cats for most of the day on their own dung heap at Corio Bay. The Giants were a different proposition altogether. They had a very slight wind advantage in the opening quarter but were too quick off the mark for the Demons, tearing the game apart by the half way mark of the term when they kicked the first five goals with clean and direct football.
