Not sure it is MFCSS this time, they are rightly favourites. If both teams plays as they have recently the Dogs will win

A lot can happen in a week, I think we'll come out pretty hungry tonight and it'll be a very close contest. Expect our backline to really have the wood over their forwards. Midfield could be a worry though.

We lost by one point when nearly our entire 22 played an average or poor game.

Dogs beaten by Blues and Tiges. On both occasions, the Dogs crumbled under fierce pressure. 

If our boys can play the Goodwin 'start-from-the-contest' footy and do most of the hard work when we they don't have the ball, we win and we win well. If our tackles don't stick, or we let Daniels, Bont and Johannisen play loose and free 5 metres off the contest, we get smashed. 

Oliver, Gawn, Trac, Brayshaw, Fritsch, May, Lever, Salem are our usual match winners, but this game relies much more heavily on Spargo, Pickett, ANB, Harmes, and Hunt.

Dees by about 16 points I reckon (hope?).

Pointsbet offering $3 on Dogs win 1-100 pts and Bont at least 1 goal. Giving money away. 

Just seen the news that this game is definitely going ahead and it's made my Friday.

Can't wait to get through the rest of the work day and watch us slog it out tonight.

Irrespective of what happened last week, my feeling is that our form hasn't been that great (i.e. we're not totally dominating games) so I'm not  brimming full of confidence, but our ability to consistently rise to the challenge that's in front of us has me believing we are still in with a red hot chance.

Hoping we learn some things from last week and our encounter with the Dogs pre-season.

Really want the win tonight - hate these [censored].

I think I prefer the reference to D-Day given we were on the winning side that time, rather than the Charge of the Light Brigade which commemorates a loss. Noble and heroic, but a loss, nevertheless.

I'm in more familiar territory with the Demons tonight, low expectations, with a win pure bonus and a pleasant surprise given we're yet to click all over the ground this year, despite our win:loss ratio... 

This was always going to be a fascinating game.

The top two teams in the AFL atm, and not just on the ladder. We are clearly the two best performed teams.

Two different tactical models, but not distinct in the way say ours and the Eagles are.

Of course all team have a focus on pressure and winning contested ball. But the dees and dogs have pressure and contested footy as foundation stones of their model. 

Where we differ is our defence system, the ways we transition the ball and the way we look to generate scoring opportunities.  

But no crowd and the open roof, no to mention the craziness of this week and both teams having covid scares, add random variables into mix.

Last year, i found our early games with no crowds painful to watch in terms of the atmosphere, but also from a perspective of not knowing if the games would ultimately count for anything. And it felt like the players were going through the motions.

But tonight those factors, particularly the last two are not really in the equation.

Yes, the game won't have the same atmosphere, and will miss  a lot because of it.

But unlike the games with no crowds last year, in some ways it will have its own special atmosphere. Just the sound of the players, like a suburban game, playing a match for real stakes and two teams desperate to show who is the best going head to head. 

Might even have better umpiring without the noise of affirmation!

I'll need something to do on the weekend, thought I'd learn a new hobby.

Yep IHW ....order a Prusa MK3s through the Prusa website. Get one that's pre-assembled and not a kit, unless your a wiz with electronics. They are excellent printers made in Prague in the Czech Republic. There is also the smaller Prusa Mini for around 500. Also an excellent printer.

My understanding is you can only print inanimate objects, which we've already got.

I think that playing with the roof open may work somewhat in our favour (Dogs always playing home games with it closed), and the lack of crowds could also work in our favour (let’s face it, our crowds are never quite vocal enough to influence umpiring decisions). It could go either way, but will be close whichever way it goes.

Not worried about the lack of atmosphere 

Docklands never has a scrap of atmosphere at the best of times

the return clash at the G should be a beauty. Hopefully 60K turn out

This is exactly how I'm feeling about tonight's game, thanks balls for putting my thoughts into words in a much better way than I could ever have done.

We played poorly last week so hopefully keen to make ammends.

Im sure we will throw everything as the dogs tonight so I think we are a good chance.
