Not to mention the sling tackle on Jayden Hunt.  Not even a free kick???  Go figure.  You know the next thing?  Even with the bull tish umpiring we are still winning.  Maybe the arbiter's wheel might also turn, come finals time.

It bloody better.

Meanwhile, Riewoldt gets away with not one but two instances of using studs up, kicking his opponent underneath the ball.

Christian really is an inept imbecile.

Wow.. thought that sling tackle was definitely worth a week, considering how late in the tackle he was dumped on his head.

maybe it’s just based on who was tackled and who was tackling?

Genuinely baffled McKay didn't get a week or at least fine for that. It was the definition of a sling tackle, Hunt was lucky to avoid injury. The difference in optics between the McKay tackle and the Lycett tackle last week is not that great...

So when I saw it at the ground I thought McKay had driven his head into the ground. Replay shows absolutely nothing in it.

Was sticking up for Kossie at the time but it was silly.

Clip here, hard to see due to the terrible transition timing.

That was quite a weak knee. Barely touched him and just a knee push with little force.

On one hand these fines are annoying on the other it shows how the team is playing with aggression and a nasty edge we haven’t seen in a Melbourne side for a very long time (ever?)....that’s what successful teams do

I agree there's not much in it, but at the same time you don't need to put your knee into someone's chest after you throw them off your teammate. It just incites more niggle.

Did Caleb Daniel get cited for his tackle on Gray? Pinned both arms and head bounced off the ground. Only difference to the Lycett one the week prior was the Crows player was KO'd. Another example of the MRO punishing the outcome and not the action.

lol I see these in every game. Dusty dropped 2 into Lever’s head. Nada.

Anyway, still plays so who cares. Should’ve kneed the lot of em.

Holy cow, how does that constitute $3k ($2k with an early plea)? Barely any force behind it at all, I'd even question if at actually made a forceful contact! FMD

I actually think McKay slows the final part of the tackle down to prevent the dangerous sling part. It's perhaps an example that it's slowly creating change.

I just find it incredible that Rampe's flip from last week, which WAS dangerous, gets totally ignored while TMac gets a fine for that.

Tmac only got fined because Gerard Healy made a big stink about Mummy dropping the knee’s  into a prostrate Zac Merret last week on ON THE COUCH. Of course Mummy got away with it and it was far worse than what Tmac did. Shamed Christian on TV to take action.

  • REPORT: Hawthorn

The final score in Saturday's game against Hawthorn was almost identical to that from their last contest three months ago. Melbourne suffered comprehensive defeats in both games, but the similarities ended there. When they met in Round 9, the Demons were resurgent, seeking to redeem themselves after a lacklustre start to the season. They approached the game with vigour and dynamism, and were highly competitive for the first three quarters, during which they were at least on par with the Hawks. In the final term, they lapsed into error and were ultimately overrun, but the final result did not accurately reflect their effort and commitment throughout the match.

  • CASEY: Box Hill

The Casey Demons ended the regular season on a positive note and gained substantial momentum leading into the finals when they knocked the Box Hill Hawks off the top of the VFL ladder in their final round clash at Casey Fields. More importantly, they moved out of a wild card position in the finals race and secured a week's rest as they leapfrogged up the ladder into fifth place with their decisive 23-point victory over the team that had been the dominant force in the competition for most of the season.
