He’s an average player at best, his strength is one on one contests otherwise he’s terrible.Ā

On The Couch ripped Liam Jones apart the other night. Great one on one defensively but if he refuses to adhere to the structure again this week we will walk goals in.

Yea lol that is the one I just found. I love his story as he was just derided during g his dogs stint and he was able to turn into an ok defender with moments of brilliance.Ā

Yep, saw him lots of times just trying to get a run at the ball and just being scragged.

He did alright last week and he'll learn to beat those tags. He's just too goodĀ

If they tag Kossy too hard it mess Spargo should have a better Ā game, he might also step into Kossys taggerĀ

hard player hard tackler not very tall

I like the way he plays. Both of em !

The line with the bookies is instructive. +24.5 Carlton 1.90.

$3.00 MFC at -38.5

$7 for -60.5....

$4 for -47.5

Ā

Ā

Can you explain to me in simple terms what this means ??Ā

Ā I don't do ' At the line ' speakĀ

I was there last week AF, Ā but I can’t see the Blues bringing 4 QTEQ of heat.

That said, I remember 2016-2017 when we should have belted them but didn’t.

If the line is MFC -38.5 paying $3 it means Melbourne has to win by at least 39 points for you to win the bet and it will pay 3-1 odds (so you win $3 for every dollar you bet)

If Carlton is +24.5 and paying $1.90 it means for you to win your bet Carlton has to either win or lose by 24 points or less and your payout is $1.90 for every dollar you bet

nah - we've forgotten how to lose

Ā Peter ā€œJohnnoā€ Johnson mad bluebagger has put $100 on the blues. Reckons the upset is on and put his cash in. Ā Still arrogant even after their crap run over the past few years. Ā Let’s rub it in their snug faces. Go DeesĀ

Woweee- why does this [censored] matter?

Carlton 2021 is Melbourne 2016. A good average team. We beat a 1st placed Hawthorn in 2016 deep into the season.Ā Ā

We have had three bruising encounters and Carlton can look quite good when they're switched on. They lack defensive awareness as a team but they're no easy beats and will be going for blood after folding against the Dogs. Lots of pressure and talk on them this week.

I think we are much better than them but anything can happen. Tbh wouldn't be surprised if we lose this week.Ā

My concern is from about 2004.
Eyeing off top4 and lost toĀ them twice during the season.
They were bottom of the ladder but we had no answer forĀ Fevola.

We've got a mounting injury list.
Tomlinson, Viney, Jackson out and not sure what sort of shape Petracca's in after his corky.
But they have their concerns with Cripps and if were as good as we think we should roll 'em regardless.
But I've never been one to go counting the chooks.
Been following this club too long for that.

**** me I’d managed to block that from myĀ memories. I absolutely remember watching us drop those matches and recalling how it burned our top 4 hopes.Ā

If only I could have.
That game and the following ones to the end of the season disgusted me at the time.
I think in the second game rd18 or so a win against bottom side Carlton would have given us top spot and a guaranteed top4.
Then we spudded up, lost the remainder of games, fell into the finals and got booted the 1st week.
It was everything I hated about the club at the time.
We were so up and down.
It was like as soon as theyĀ did enough toĀ guaranteeĀ a finals spotĀ they got lazy and took their foot off the accelerator.

Slight correction. I believe the year you are referring to is 2006.

We actually rolled them at the G by 100 in our first fixture. We then played them at Princes Park with our chances to go top 4 still very much real.

Despite them being bog ordinary and made up of also rans from other clubs, we proceeded to poo the bed and lose by 5 goals.

Nah, you are right about the 1st 100pt win andĀ thatĀ was 2004.

And the year I am referring to was 2006
Both Carlton games played at telstra.
Both loses when they were wooden spooners.
The year we beat the Aints in the Elim.
Again stunk it up in the latter part of the season though.

My memory obviously muddled with all the frustration.
There was so much of it.
But I was at the second game late in the seasonĀ at 'Telstra' leaving disgusted.Ā

Ā

It was round 1 2006 that I left disgusted. Carlton won 3 games for the season, 2 of them were against us! It cost us top 4.

We also lost to them late in 2004 at Princes Park after topping the ladder in round 18 against Hawthorn. I was working that day and remember being in utter shock when I checked the scores.

I was chatting to a couple of blues supporting mates and i think there is seriously a CFCSS situation going on. one expects them to lose by plenty, the other things they'll dominate the game, have all the running and choke in the last 10 minutes and lose.Ā

i said i was fine with either, but would like to win by a bit as last week was a bit hectic.Ā

they both can't stand teague and think the club is covering up a pretty significant injury to CrippsĀ

  • NON-MFC: Round 06

The Easter Round kicks off in style with a Thursday night showdown between Brisbane and Collingwood, as both sides look to solidify their spots inside the Top 4 early in the season. Good Friday brings a double-header, with Carlton out to claim consecutive wins when they face the struggling Kangaroos, while later that night the Eagles host the Bombers in Perth, still chasing their first victory of the year. Saturday features another marquee clash as the resurgent Crows look to rebound from back-to-back losses against a formidable GWS outfit. That evening, all eyes will be on Marvel Stadium where Damien Hardwick returns to face his old side—the Tigers—coaching the Suns at a ground he's never hidden his disdain for. Sunday offers two crucial contests where the prize is keeping touch with the Top 8. First, Sydney and Port Adelaide go head-to-head, followed by a fierce battle between the Bulldogs and the Saints. Then, Easter Monday delivers the traditional clash between two bitter rivals, both desperate for a win to stay in touch with the top end of the ladder. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons?

What were they thinking?Ā I mean by ā€œtheyā€ the coaching panel and team selectors who chose the team to play against an opponent who, like Melbourne, had made a poor start to the season and who they appeared perfectly capable of beating in what was possibly the last chance to turn the season around. It’s no secret that the Demons’ forward line is totally dysfunctional, having opened the season barely able to average sixty points per game which means there has been no semblance of any system from the team going forward into attack.Ā Nevertheless, on Saturday night at the Adelaide Oval in one of the Gather Round showcase games, Melbourne, with Max Gawn dominating the hit outs against a depleted Essendon ruck resulting from Nick Bryan’s early exit, finished just ahead in clearances won and found itself inside the 50 metre arc 51 times to 43. The end result was a final score that had the Bombers winningĀ 15.6 (96) to 8.9 (57). On balance, one could expect this to result in a two or three goal win, but in this case, it translated into a six and a half goal defeat because they only managed to convert eight times or 11.68% of their entries. The Bombers more than doubled that. On Thursday night at the same ground, the losing team Adelaide managed to score 100 points from almost the same number of times inside 50.
