If thatโ€™s the case I wonder which one of Chandler, Baker or Jones gets a run?ย

Chandler played the other night so wouldn't think it would be him.

Guess would be Jones for Viney, Baker the sub.

Apologies if already mentioned, but apparently Viney might be a late out. (Not confirmed)

ย

That would be a shame, but I think it is a difficulty (should it occur) that we can overcome, such is our depth.

In keeping with the theme of famous quotes, hereโ€™s my offering:

โ€œThe snozzberries taste like snozzberries.โ€ - Willy Wonkaย

My point is, motivational quotes are great โ€˜nโ€™ all, but at the end of the day itโ€™s actions and not words that win games.ย
GO THE MIGHTY DEEEEEZย

โค๏ธ?โค๏ธ?
ย

incidentally, want your innocent childhood shattered in one fell swoop? Then look up Roald Dahlโ€™s definition of snozzberries.ย
I sincerely apologise in advance.ย

Almost forgot to shatter everyoneโ€™s childhood innocence

Only way we lose this is inaccurate kicking which has been a weak point this season.ย

From Tom Browne:ย Understand Jack Viney late out and wonโ€™t play today. Baker In. Viney trained yesterday but had some foot soreness.

Two points on the game:

1. North have one of the worst snipers in the league:ย  Cunnington!ย  He will set out to inflict as much damage as possible to our stars, mostly off the ball/behind play.ย  He can't be allowed to get away with those antics.ย  Our players need to rally early to protect each other.

2. We have had a few slow starts and had to come back to win.ย  This is a game where I really wants us to come out firing in the first quarter:ย  not just play well but kick straight.ย  Nothing like scoreboard pressure.

This is the first time I've been nervous about a game, this year.ย  I think we will win but I'll be glad when the final siren blows.

Yes I'm more than just a little worried what 'missing t' will get up to if they're getting a right flogging.

Pity Sparrow wasn't one of the emergencies.

Kinda strange inclusion. With BBBrown in I woulda thought theyโ€™d like to get some time into TMac on a wing... Less likely to happen with Baker in. Unless Brayshaw just goes straight into the guts today

Gee those feet of his have given him some grief.ย  Hopefully nothing major, super important player.

To anyone who thinks North are any chance at all Iโ€™d be throwing a lobster on it because if they get up $300 should help ease the pain.ย

Given he was named to play to begin with should hopefully indicate it was nothing on major concernย

My thoughts exactly.

Hope it stays dry.

I wonder if we're going to have to manage Vineys load this year?

Sounds like an injury that's never going to go away completely.

Hoping that means Brayshaw plays more inside mid today.

Just setting off on the ferry. 10 dees to every norf supporter. Hope that is a good omen

Iโ€™m one of those idiots that cracks it at a horrible looking win. Freo round 1 didnโ€™t impress me and I worried about what was to come.ย
ย

But not today, Iโ€™ll take a 1 point scrapper if thatโ€™s what it takes. Coming off a big win, there must come a point when things go right for North, Adelaide looked like complete [censored] last year until they didnโ€™t.ย
ย

That said I expect to smash em. I just hope everyone, myself included keeps their [censored] together if we donโ€™t.ย

It'd take $100 on Nth +40 for me to get over a loss today.

The Viney injury story was going around earlier in the week so itโ€™s no surprise.ย

Was it? Itโ€™s a surprise to me and I was gobbling up any MFC related media I could find. I obviously need to do better at keeping my ear to the ground!

Not the damn foot again! Ffs!ย
ย

I am thinking Gus into the guts and Baker to the wing.ย

They might opt to give Jordon more game time in the middle if Viney is outย and keep Gus on the wing, nice to have options though.

I'm not.

I hope he plays exactly the re he has all year. And I suspect he will.

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterdayโ€™s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown andย  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
