Best bit:  watch the team at the end of the 3/4 time break.  Huddle with goody, laying down the law. Complete buy in, complete commitment.

something special has begun....

Watching the replay after this morning's driveway dawn service. Said it to a few people all ready in response to SMS messages saying "your boys look good"

This is the best Demons side I've seen in my time (1980). I've seen teams with better individual players and more star factor but not a team that is structurally better and which does the basics and 1%ers so well.

They are playing with purpose and look like they love playing for/with each other and finally believe they can go very very deep and maybe all the way

Hope our two longtime demonlanders in @old dee and @Sir Why You Little enjoyed that. Hoping there's something special on the horizon for older and younger supporters

Also how good was it seeing Ron Barrasi at the footy looking well!

I don;t fancy an upper cut but i'll happily eat some humble pie. He has been fantastic. His resurrection act this year is on a par with Lazarus.

That's the bit on the top, BDA

Considering tipping us against Norf next week.

If you had $50 on the Dees and kept rolling over the winnings you’d have $1,576.95.

We’re already priced at $1.02 next week.

...with his usual perplexed look, and in regard to your first paragraph, i know that i couldn't help but reflect how happy we felt  being mentioned  by many thoughtful players and others, as being ardent long time followers of this Club.

Some priceless moments of spontaneous brotherly love:

  • Petracca and Oliver hug after Petracca's goal
  • Max's nonchalant but ever-so-proud sideways glance at that hug
  • Big Max and Big Luke flanking Kozzie after the cowardly Mansell and mates got into Kozzie
  • Gus's gusto at the end of the team song.

I reckon every other coach will now be studying very hard on how to beat us, because we are an awesome TEAM.

This is the best list since our last Premiership. Certainly the best in my time.

i’m not sure about the “ best list” when i think about the schwarz, lyon, jackovich era. But it’s def the most united, fittest, team orientated one. that undefinable team thing that’s SO hard to get we now have. We’re officially in the premiership hunt!

We actually stopped tagging him at centre stoppages by the third.

Was that cause he was off the ground AF??

In case anyone wondering, the ‘65 team won their first 8.........something to mirror or better!

Then they sacked the coach.

and we have been in the wilderness mostly since then.

We did what no other team could do, we tackled dusty, we held dusty and we injured dusty. I couldn't give a toss that he has been carrying a footy injury.

Well picked! And yeah, I was sure young Angus was gonna burst outta the telly and into my lounge, such was his passion. Not that I would’ve minded. ?

Not trying to sound negative but let’s not get too ahead of ourselves fellas. We’re playing amazing but premierships aren’t won by round 6.

Anyway, go Dees !!!

But who wants to play an interstate preliminary final... we have been smashed in the past ie 1994 and 2018.

How's that guy Kane Cornes on Kayo saying that Mrlbourne haven't done anything yet and Richmond will have long memories, all because a Melbourne player pointed at the scoreboard during the melee. At 3-3 Richmond need to think about winning games so they can challenge at the pointy end. Dees are entitled to their moment of glory.

That $1.02 was too good to refuse BA. Smashed into $1.01 on TAB

Quote: "Tiger veteran Shane Edwards will come under match review scrutiny for a late bump on Dees’ midfield bull Oliver.  The out of character moment happened at the 12-minute mark of the second term as Melbourne worked the ball around the member’s wing. Oliver lofted a handball over the top of a number of players as the Dees looked to attack.

But after giving the handball Oliver was confronted by Edwards who chose to bump once the ball was out of the area, shirtfronting the 23-year-old and appearing to collect him high.  The hit floored Oliver and upon returning to his feet went straight to the bench playing with his jaw".

The writer doesn't watch much football or is a Richmond supporter - that was not out of character for Edwards.  He is a serial offender of rough stuff.

Does anyone have vision of Edwards bump on Oliver?

How good was our defence? May Lever and Salem were huge, as always. Hibbo shut out Dusty. But a guy that doesn't get much attention is Tomlinson. Nothing fancy, but he is doing what he needs to do and is an integral part of the fortress.

Need to check our points conceded stats but it must be looking pretty silly now.

He shirt fronted him with what appeared a raised arm and appeared to hit Oliver in the throat jaw area. They replayed the incident on TV  not long after it happened.

My husband grew up a Richmond supporter. Then lost interest. I’ve been slowly converting him for 5 years, but gees it’s been tough given where Richmond were at and where we were at.
Last night he was celebrating like the rest of us. I finally did it!
So cheers for the win Dees! ?

Saw this epic Demon victory from the 2nd level of the Olympic Stand. Three favourite moments:

  1. Spargo's tackle in the 1st quarter
  2. Kossie's shirtfront after kicking a set shot in the last quartet
  3. Singing with the full voiced Demon faithful "J-O-N-E-S-Y  J-O-N-E-S-Y" just before he was interviewed on the ground after the game.

Will always remember Jonesy's 300th

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Gold Coast

On Friday, the Demons return to our Casey Fields fortress where they have a 77% win rate. The scent of September is in the air and the struggling Suns are on the horizon. The Cranbourne weather forecast? Ominous, like the match itself: a strong chance of carnage. Let’s be honest, last week’s first half against the West Coast was a training drill but we dropped our guard in the final quarter. While this match is a mismatch on paper — second versus seventeenth — football is won in the wind, the contests, and the moments.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #32 Tom Sparrow

The rugged Sparrow’s career appears to have plateaued in recent years. He makes the side on a week to week basis but he is unable to establish a foothold in the team’s midfield and arguably performs best outside of the contest in a forward position without being a goal kicker. He remains a good honest foot soldier but is not a star.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #33 Tom Fullarton

Fullarton managed a couple of games in the first half of the season but soon found himself back in the VFL. There, he found a niche at centre half back but it was not enough to retain a place on the list at season’s end.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #35 Harrison Petty

Entering 2025, it looked as if Petty would be secured in a defensive position, but plans shifted and he spent more time forward, averaging just over a goal per game throughout the season. It remains uncertain which area of the ground he will be expected to cover under the new coaching regime.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #36 Kysaiah Pickett

The dynamic small forward, possessing an innate ability to generate excitement with his explosive play around the goals, successfully transitioned into a role that afforded him more time in the midfield. The club also negotiated a long-term deal with Pickett, thereby eliminating any prospect of a move west by their star young player.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #37 Kade Chandler

For a few years now, he has been a reliable, hard working pressure forward, but in 2025, Chandler elevated his performance, becoming an integral component of the team with enough versatility to play effectively on a wing from time to time.
