Weid needs to lift and kick 8 before he can seriously be considered.

I just dont get Melk and Fritta together.

Its too short.

Yea ..Fritta if fit is a lock.

Not only are we too short but Melk has played 2 games this year.

One poor and one just above average.

Wied and Bbb with ten goals are not rewarded.

I just dont get the Jake love.

Agreed with you 100% on Melksham, but 80% chance of 1-5mm in the arvo tomoz.  T-Mac and Jackson is all we need up fwd. Don't need another tall.  If anything Bedford for Melksham I'd like

I think Im just dissappointed not see one of those gun fwds in.

Maybe the trade Tmac thread I scoffed at wasnt so bad except maybe trade Wied or Bbb.

Not a pot shot at Fritta as hes been a star this year but I kinda almost hope he isnt cherry ripe and Goodys playing games.

Haha I think there is room for one more, just not this week

That’s what I think.

Otherwise I can’t understand how you keep a young key forward out, who has kicked 7 in the VFL the week before.

I think we are more balanced and dangerous with another key forward.

Maybe the selection committee has chosen a side they think is suited to beating the tigers....

Just a thought

That old chestnut.

Next week, if Covid doesn’t ruin things, is the time to bring Weid or Brown back and see if we can play 3 or even 4 talls.
Richmond are too potent on the counterattack and having to many forwards who don’t apply defensive pressure is risky, especially when they’ve never played together cohesively.
Good move to pick Fritsch IF he is 100%

It's a strong team, love May back in,  very quick recovery for both Fritta and May,  hope the doctors have assessed them and they are 100%.    But the whole idea of Rewarding the Winners, keep the side settled  as much as possible.

and the beauty is If someone does not perform, then there is someone belting down the door kicking goals at Casey.

Love the pressure to perform, keeps them on their toes and against the Tigers they need to be.  Richmond with the extra couple of days off should win, BUT we can jump them and beat them.   They know they have had more time as well.  To get over niggles and to relax into over confidence. Something we can not have given how short our preparation has been,   I think we will win it, Run over them in the last.    Go Dees

Forgot about the forecast. If it’s wet then 2 talls is enough. Need more ground ball pressure.

Fritsch is as good defensively as Melksham.

Lucky he is a valuable attacking option.

If his 2 week old broken hand can tackle.

I would argue better defensively this year. Has really upped his game in this area.

Never expected to see Weid and Brown in this week, but am disappointed to not see Weideman named.  Goodwin talked a lot this week about not wanting to lose the ‘chemistry’ in the team and I suppose it came down to that.

Would prefer to see someone like vandenberg as the injury sub and the young guys playing full games to develop at Casey.

(We’ll smash these has-beens)

Weather could be a factor ,as showers or rain is expected. If so, good to get Weid , and other falls in earlier game.Covered well with emergencies..We will know more at 2 pm tomorrow

Very un MFC like, picking the team that has got them to 5-0 I love it

i think they want to see if weid can back up his form for more than week. was poor in practice match prior.

they also want to get a better comparison of form between bbrown and weid, because once they pick one, the other is effectively locked out for a few rounds

So, a few of my takes are:

The claws out for Melksham this week are pretty harsh.  Bloke kicked 2.5 pretty good goals and setup the game turning Max bomb last week.  Yes that's similar to M.Brown, but Milkshake has a bigger upside and is better embedded in the side;

Weid has only averaged the same number of goals at VFL level over the past 2 weeks as our top goal scorers of last week and the same as B.Brown.  How many people were singing the Weid's praise after his performance two weeks ago when he hardly touched it.

I'm far happier to make bigger changes next week than this one.  It's not like another run in the two's will do either of Sammy or BBB any real harm.

I reckon if he’s named sub then it’s a dead giveaway that they are not 100% on Fritach’s hand. The Tigers will definitely take that as a sign to test it thoroughly.

Fritta doesn’t strike me as the Jack Viney, keep going until you drop dead, type.

I don’t think he can nurse a hand injury with his game style

The Tigers are weak. They will always be the rabble we know and love who were in the wilderness with us for 40 years. I don't care what anyone says.

I don't rate any of their three flags especially last years Covid circus flag.

I don't rate their 2017 flag either where they beat a rubbish robotic Adelaide team.

And I don't rate their 2019 flag where they beat the fake soulless GWS with all of their 11 fans cheering them on.

I don't rate Richmond.  Never have and never will.  Hardwick is the 2nd worst premiership coach ever (2nd only to Chris Scott).

Lets end their fake little dynasty and make them 'The Tigers of old' again.

I’d be ecstatic  to win 3 of the next four Premierships and have other supporters not rate them.

Love the ins really strong side the Weid is stiff but it shows how strong we are I’m confident that we can this one go dees

I was looking at some stats and although Luke Jackson is doing a great job in the ruck as a ff has kicked one goal for five games.

Is this accurate and is it enough?

He is getting the ball to ground and helping Max win games but at this rate will be lucky to kick five goals for the year if he plays a full season.

Needs to hit the scoreboard a lot more.

This is a brave call from Goody.  I reckon the easy option is to bring in Brown or Weed, but do you sacrifice you fwd pressure?

this seems like a very measured selection.  Respectful to those who have got the job done and keeping the system stable

Fristch and May are Massive in.   I am proud of T Mac to give the selectors no option but to keep him at CHF.
