Interesting not picking Weideman. Must be defensive efforts, looked like he moved well and offensively obviously not an issue

I would go with Petty as the medisub as Sparrow had it last week and shouldn't miss two games.  Weideman can do with another game at Casey to press his case.  Similarly with Chandler.  Also Petty can fill in for Fritsch or May if necessary.

Chandler makes sense. Id play Weid and BBB in the early game.

Wow was not expecting that! Given Goodwin said both were fit to be picked I would've really expected us to bring in one of Weid or Brown.

That said, I'm very happy with the Ins vs the Outs. Our forward line definitely looked off a step against the Hawks and I attribute a lot of that to Fritta and his running patterns. He was just starting to find his radar when he hurt himself so hopefully it's on song this week.

May back for Petty was always going to happen if May was passed fit. Herculean effort by him to get up for this match.

Brown and Weid made to bide their time, let's see how they go against the Tigers in the VFL this week.

Well, they really have to earn the spots now, as well as having pressure for places.

Give Sparrow a run in the two's, Weids as well, Petty or Chandler as sub, probably Chandler.

The structure and system will be our weapon if we start losing.

All know their roles and cohesion should be improving.

They would have talked to Weids about consistency.

Congratulations Jonesy, please show us some of your magic.

Fritsch' availablity was unexpected.

Interesting selection but perhaps understandable for a night game. Wonder if they were tempted to play M Brown one more time.

Jordon can consider hmself lucky

Did we ever confrm whether Petty was or was not injured?

Not really. 11 last quarter possessions last week. Looks like he belongs at this stage

Fritsch will be a late scratch and Weid will play.

P2J, can you please preface these types of posts with 'imv' so they don't come across as factual.  Cheers.

Wrapped to see these two back.

My only worries...are they both back a game too early?

May copped a massive knock and Fritta with a hand that surely can't be 100% ready either.  He might not need that hand for the ball drop but he'll sure need it for marking and tackling attempts.  I realise the FD is all over these things and i defer to their better judgement of course but that nagging doubt still lingers.

Should have a pretty fair idea how they're both traveling by half time anyways.

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
