Probably take a few games for most to reach full match fitness with the longer quarters and run off a few excess gym kilos of muscle (for some).

It is extremely hot.

Yes agree guys, it'll definitely take a few games off shorten pre season.

Still flooding the contest and no one out. Dockers killing us in clearances because of it even though we are winning tap outs.

Dear AA selectors,

That guy who is owning the game in the back half with 500 metres gained? Number 1?

His name is Steven May.

That name again.

Steven May.

Cheers. Enjoy the game.

Harmes should go to Fyfe & get Hunt forward. He is hopeless down back.

Is he keeping Fyfe a little quiet though?  We don't need to see much from Hunt as long as he achieves that.

Harmes looks much happier and more at home back up forward again.  I would not mess with the 'present' winning set up.  Unless Fyfe manages to get off the hook

Even with a new midfield coach.

Not sure these mids are ever going to get it, not in their DNA.

Same old same old. Still too many players who just aren't reliable when the ball comes near them. Hunt, Harmes, Tomlinson etc. Jetta off the pace.

Clayton Oliver - surprised to see he'd had 18 possessions. Needs to do more damage.

And on today's performance, I'd be playing Daw (if fit?) over Jackson, who just looks a bit lost.

They said Jackson went into the rooms early in second QTR I think.

Not sure if he's got a niggle.

Yep, we just still have passengers though.

happy to be in front but apart from may and lever really uninspiring sloppy stuff. i didn’t think it was possible but, even from the low base we started from,  we’ve gone backwards in our clearance work. hopefully an improvement in the 2nd half.

Why do we continue to handball to players under pressure? Drives me mad.  Have we learnt nothing?

Agreed, although tbh I’ll take a Round 1 win any way it comes.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
