Any thoughts / recommendations on taking a 2 year old?

Not expecting to watch much of the game, might only last 20 minutes in our seat but taking the opportunity to jump on the train and get out of the house for an adventure. Got a decent seat on Level 2 as well.

I have taken my kids on my own since they were tiny babies.  The MCG staff & fellow Melbourne supporters are usually very helpful & nice to parents with kids.  If all turns sour, leave early.  Fingers crossed the rest of us Dees supporters don't have a reason to follow you if you do need to make an early exit..........

Wouldn't it be wonderful if in five weeks time we are wondering how we can possibly fit Weid and B Brown into the team.

Stay asleep DJ, the real world is a pain in the rear.

Gosh it feels strange getting ready to head to the G today, we are allowed back and it feels great.

What a cracking day and I just hope we win. That's all that can happen today and no injuries.

I am on my way to the MCG. It is great to be going to the footy again. CARN THE DEMONS.

On my way to the G. Feeling like a kid on Christmas morning. Can’t wait for the moment the boys run out and the song plays. I’ll be disappointed if we don’t get 30k there today. It’s a perfect day for footy

Got a table booked in front of one of the big monitors at "Sporties" Bar in Launceston. Hope some other tragic supporters might be there as well. Did the Boags Brewery tour on Thursday and met a couple of Dee's people from Ararat. Small world.

You know my favorite thing about round one? The montage, nothing better than a good footy montage. I wish I had montage guy's voice I'd voice over my whole life.

So glad Luke Jackson is back, I reckon wed have made the finals last year if we didn't lose him to that hammy, hes a nightmare matchup for our opponents and doesnt need to get the footy to have a big impact, a bit like Nic Nat.

3AW putting the boot into us pre-match

Lots of “soft culture” cheap shots? Or actually some thoughtful analysis?

Great to see Junior back to present JJ with his jumper.

Goos to see former Melbourne great James McDonald in the changeroom doing the jumper presentation alongside James Jordons mum Prue.

And Gerard Whateley still sooking it up as to why we didn’t volunteer to play at Marvel to allow Essendon to play here tonight.

Let it go Gerard.

Surely you are not surprised DJ after all we deserve it.

Basically that we have gone nowhere over the last 3 years and that our coaching team is now almost dysfunctional with Yze and Williams in the wing. Bartlett wasn't spared either. Inability to sign Oliver etc

Nothing that most of us haven't been saying for a year or two... bottom line Goodwin disappoints

Clearly not everyone is in agreement with the side selected, really looking for similar intensity and pressure to that of the first two games. Anything less is unacceptable.

Just saw Charlie Spargo at the jumper presentation. Ive not been his biggest fan but there is no doubting Charlie prepares and delivers 100% of all he has got within himself. You could see the intensity on his face. Go well kid.

I still can’t work out why they didn’t change our game to a 1.10pm start and play the other game here this evening? Would have allowed plenty of time in between to quick clean/prep

Big honour to receive your jumper from Junior. Play well Jimmy J.

  • POSTGAME: Rd 16 vs Gold Coast

The Demons did not come to play from the opening bounce and let the Gold Coast kick the first 5 goals of the match. They then outscored the Suns for the next 3 quarters but it was too little too late and their season is now effectively over.

  • PREVIEW: Gold Coast

The Gold Coast Suns find themselves outside of the top eight for the first time since Round 1 with pressure is mounting on the entire organisation. Their coach Damien Hardwick expressed his frustration at his team’s condition last week by making a middle-finger gesture on television that earned him a fine for his troubles. He showed his desperation by claiming that Fox should pick up the tab.  There’s little doubt the Suns have shown improvement in 2025, and their position on the ladder is influenced to some extent by having played fewer games than their rivals for a playoff role at the end of the season, courtesy of the disruption caused by Cyclone Alfred in March.  However, they are following the same trajectory that hindered the club in past years whenever they appeared to be nearing their potential. As a consequence, that Hardwick gesture should be considered as more than a mere behavioral lapse. It’s a distress signal that does not bode well for the Queenslanders. While the Suns are eager to remain in contention with the top eight, Melbourne faces its own crisis, which is similarly deep-seated but in a much different way. After recovering from a disappointing start to the season and nearing a return to respectability among its peer clubs, the Demons have experienced a decline in status, driven by the fact that while their form has been reasonable (see their performance against the ladder leader in the Kings Birthday match), their conversion in front of goal is poor enough to rank last in the competition. Furthermore, their opponents find them exceptionally easy to score against. As a result, they have effectively eliminated themselves from the finals race and are again positioned to finish in the bottom half of the ladder.
