Have a great day to all those that are going. I just got home from nightshift and have another tonight so will be watching on TV unfortunately.

Can't wait to get back to the G in the near future.

If the predicted crowd numbers are true, is anyone that has a premium membership aware if guest passes were available?

One for the historians. When was the last time we beat the same side twice in one day?

The boys will beat Freo this afternoon and the girls will beat them tonight.

Will be cheering hard from Albury. Cmon dees please don’t let me down.

Girls play tomorrow evening

Can’t attend today as I’m going to an auction to try and buy a new home. Wish me luck!

I’ll be watching online this afternoon and hoping for a better first up effort than round 1 the last few years. Fire up Dees!!!

I am Premium and I don’t believe they are available currently as they have to allocate seating at time of booking and guest passes are thru the club not ticketek.

I’m taking my 2 boys who are standard members but we are sitting away from my usual area on level 2.

Enjoy the day Demonlanders.

Our team may not be ideal but hey footys back.

Thanks for that mate, I’m a Sydney based Redlegs member. We (my fiancé and I) try and get down for 3-4 games a year, I normally buy her a guest pass.
Having said that I’m watching the 9 morning show and I’m sure it just said that the MCG will be at 75% capacity shortly, hopefully when that happens guest passes and offered again.

What’s on the menu???

I've been on the dreaded 4-6 week injury list with a herniated L4/L5 disc for the last month. MRI next week to give more info on surgery or not so not able to do much. Was going to attempt an pork roast on the rotisserie but just can't ?

Got something that was booked up last year, so can’t make it today.  It is already killing me that I can’t be there.  Go Dees, make the pain of having to sneak peeks at the app at inappropriate moments during my other thing worth it!

My wife has booked us in for some kind of fancy wine tasting event at 1pm today. I'm going to have to try the full media blackout...

Unbelievably I actually agreed to it about a month ago without event thinking about the day/date/timing...d'oh!

About to go the sleep here in the UK, it’s a bloody shocking time slot for me (2:45am) so I wake up nervously to check my phone tomorrow morning ?.

Would be nice to be like the Melbourne Storm. 20 opening round wins in a row.

Go Dees

I’m absolutely pumped to be back at the G with the family and all my dees family.

get bloody rowdyyyyyyyy and can’t wait to hear you all!

go the dees

Any thoughts / recommendations on taking a 2 year old?

Not expecting to watch much of the game, might only last 20 minutes in our seat but taking the opportunity to jump on the train and get out of the house for an adventure. Got a decent seat on Level 2 as well.

Bid late and bid hard.

Good luck!

We are carrying Jones, Tomlinson, Jetta and T Mac.  Freo will be looking to run us off our feet especially in the warm weather.

Sparrow and Jordon are a worry for me too.  Really praying they show something today.

Looking forward to getting a first proper look at Pickett and LJ , and the new and improved top 5 player Petracca.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Western Bulldogs

The Dogs reigned supreme in 2018 with an inaugural AFLW premiership cup and the Demons matched this feat by winning the cup as the Season 7 2022 champions.Meggs wasn’t born when the Doggies won their first VFL premiership cup against the Demons in 1954. Covid prevented many Demons fans from legally witnessing the victorious 2021 AFL Grand Final cup performance between the Demons and the Bulldogs, but we all grin when remembering those magnificent seven third quarter goals.

  • PREVIEW: Hawthorn

Hawthorn and Melbourne. Two teams with impressive form from last week but with seasons that are travelling on different trajectories meet in Saturday’s twilight game for what could well be the most intriguing contest of the AFL’s penultimate round. Sadly, the game has been relegated to that unappealing time slot in the weekend when Melburnians are typically preoccupied with activities other than football. It falls between the morning's shopping, afternoon sport and recreation, and Saturday night fever. A time usually reserved for relatively insignificant events but this one is not a nothingburger for either of the clubs or their fans.

In advance of Season 10, the AFL leadership has engaged in candid discussions with all clubs regarding strategies to boost attendance and expand fan bases. Concerningly, average attendances in 2024 were 2,660 fans per match, with the women’s game incurring an annual loss of approximately $50 million.

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
