No he had to come from a poor background with a infamous father, many recruiters look at potential draftees families, am sure many kids from his background have been marked don't recruit, comes from a bad family.

Maybe you should take a leaf from the BLM playbook and use this excuse to riot, score a new TV, bash a few white folk and burn down the MCG.

The lack of self awareness and hypocrisy of the preaching Left is astounding.

Are you serious? "people on this forum need a reality check" bla bla....

The whole point of this forum is to come here and take cheap shots at the opposition when they are down and laugh at their ignominy rather than turning on our own. Maybe you are unaware of the history of the rivalry between melbourne and collingwood?

We can use any mainstream social / liberal narrative we like to tell our story, which is what it is - a story.

If you come here for a correct and deep social analysis you have come to the wrong place.

Go back to QAnon for that.

Even though i think Eddie should go I dont think sacking him is the way to go he should resign under his own steam and show he is at fault for allowing this culture to continue to fester at the club.Giving a nick name to a player is fine as long as its not done with malice ,example bob Skilton was nick named chimp because of his appearance but with no malice intended. Its not just racism at collingwood its their supporters , members and admin who have no respect for anyone outside of collingwood ,a law unto themselves. My wife and I were guests in the members in 80s ,we took the abuse for awhile mainly aimed at my wife (apparently you are not allowed to be good looking girl) totally lost it when a toothless wonder grabbed her bum,my collingwood mates were big blokes and fought our way back into the bar wasnt much better in there .Its the culture all round the club that has been built up over many years of no respect for anything or anyone, thats why they are hated by  every other club across the afl

My first thought was that Emirates, as key sponsors, would be horrified. However, having been sent this photo from a mate in Germany, it may not even raise an eyebrow (shout out to @dieter)...

At least the Collingwood players get it:

"We acknowledge it is not enough to simply show support for the principles of anti-racism and inclusion."

Took a long time for the penny to drop. Sometimes people need a good public kick up the proverbial to wake up to themselves.

Good point fd. Endured a similar experience to yours in the 90s. Location was the MCG in the Southern Stand where Collingwood members were guests at a luncheon before the game in rooms behind us. These men were dressed like businessmen, suits, ties etc. Now you would think their behaviour would be appropriate to the fact they had been invited to a formal lunch and to listen to speeches given by various people from the AFL. But no. They acted like ferals let loose for the day. Banging on the glass and yelling abuse at us while they were downing the free booze. When they came out to their seats for the game it only got worse. One ahole was abusing two little kids ( Melbourne supporters/members) seated across the aisle from him so much they were in tears. He was finally taken away by security, still swearing and raving, although they took their sweet time about it, and only when we complained. It seemed like no one wanted to do anything against these ba#$ard$.

It was shocking. What I found most shocking was MFC let it happen and did nothing to control these people. The Collingwood arrogance was astounding. It was like they knew they were untouchable.

The Collingwood degeneracy transcends race, colour and creed.

Let us not forget the cowardly filth supporters who attacked Nathan Jones dad in the MCG carpark as a very young Zak Jones looked on helplessly.

Also clearly recall them spitting on Allen Jakovich at Victoria park and no doubt countless other players.

I actually knew those guys, went to school with them. I will tell you now it wasn't the first time they had done something like that either, just the first time they got caught.

It was a pretty sad family background, mum was a heroin addict and the dad spent most of their childhood in prison for a pretty high profile shooting.

In the early 1990's I was a part-time taxi driver. One Saturday morning I was hailed by three 'ladies' at the Elizabeth Street exit of Flinders Street Station. I drove north, reached La Trobe Street to to a right hand turn - the dreaded hook turn - and because of Vic Market there was a lot of traffic. A 'hero' decided to run the light and he got stuck halfway, blocking La Trobe Street traffic heading East, and ruining my opportunity to do my turn. I mumbled 'Knuckf...le' and eventually was able to deliver the ladies to Victoria Park. The Lady in the front passenger seat paid and before she got out she said, I also which to protest at the disgusting language you used in the city. I looked her in the eye and said, Please, go gather your fine ladies, get them back to the safety of my car, you are about to enter the Armageddon of filth. You ain't heard nothing yet...

Interesting hearing Virginia Trioli interview Taylor Adams this morning.

A real interviewer asking pertinent questions that our footy journos wouldn't even come close to asking.

She threw the grenades and let them hang out there for a bit but in the end let him off the hook.

He's not the sharpest tool but did his best to tow the company line.

A rabbit in the spotlight.

She didn't go in for the kill but left enough out there for you to draw the conclusion...

Yeah I know who the the scumbags father was. Not sure if its common knowledge or not.  Amazing that he was ever allowed back out on the streets after the damage he did to his poor victim and how high profile a case it was, but thats the Victorian criminal 'justice' system for you.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
