How bad is the injury to Saty?  Hasn't appeared at all this pre-season.

Fair way to take the scooter from Richmond to East Cranbourne.

Really hope Petty gets back on the park in 2021.  Showed enough to suggest he’s worth development as a versatile tall back or tall forward.

My understanding Petty around Christmas or late 2020 contracted a disease ( sickness) which restricted his training snd body strength.

As a result Burgo is handling him with TLC as he patiently resumes full training on his modified style program.

I honestly don't know the health of his groin issues which were of course last seasons problems and I can only go on that We have to wait an see the progress in front of our own eyes or as reported by the power(s) that be Burgo.

This is not a good sign. I sure hope we got Richmond’s doctors to look over him before we signed him...

For the meagre picks we gave, it would still be worth taking him on as a project player that spends the rest of his career battling to get on the park.

Far out, just when you start getting excited for the start of the season, something like this pops up and brings the mood back down. Persistent swelling throughout preseason? Work your magic Doc Feller.

Is swelling an injury? Just sounds like Dr Feller will be working out how to manage it best.

On good money, over several years. He isn’t a project player.

Don't reckon it's time to panic just yet...

Wait til Thursday.

Panic should always be initiated at the earliest possible opportunity.

MFCSS demands it.

Well I'm not saying we knowingly take on a player that will never get on the park. But you have to make some kind of radical change and take a risk, if you've persisted for two years with the same personel.

BB battling to get on the park, even on that money, still fills the supporters with far more confidence and hope for the future, if he gets it right, than having Preuss lining up at CHF and the club languishing down at 11th on the ladder again.

Despite a spirited third quarter surge, the Demons have slumped to their worst start to a season since 2012, remaining winless and second last on the ladder after a 39-point defeat to Essendon at Adelaide Oval in Gather Round.

It’s Game Day, and the Demons are staring down the barrel of an 0-5 start for the first time since 2012 as they take on Essendon at Adelaide Oval for Gather Round. In that forgettable season, Melbourne finally broke their drought by toppling the Bombers. Can lightning strike twice? Will the Dees turn their nightmare start around and breathe life back into 2025?

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

As the focus of the AFL moves exclusively to South Australia for Gather Round, the question is raised as to what are we going to get from the  Melbourne Football Club this weekend? Will it be a repeat of the slop fest of the last three weeks that have seen the team score a measly 174 points and concede 310 or will a return to the City of Churches and the scene where they performed at their best in 2024 act as a wakeup call and bring them out of their early season reverie?  Or will the sleepy Dees treat their fans to a reenactment of their lazy effort from the first Gather Round of two years ago when they allowed the Bombers to trample all over them on a soggy and wet Adelaide Oval? The two examples from above tell us how fickle form can be in football. Last year, a committed group of players turned up in Adelaide with a businesslike mindset. They had a plan, went in confidently and hard for the football and kicked winning scores against both home teams in a difficult environment for visitors. And they repeated that sort of effort later in the season when they played Essendon at the MCG.
