There was a time in the early 90s when we would receive a Christmas card signed by a player (in ink) as part of our membership and  I still have ones from Allen Jakovich, Rod Grinter and Stephen Tingay.

These were then replaced by a card with printed autographs and one I have kept featured coach Neil Balme, Garry Lyon, Jimmy Stynes, Glenn Lovett and Tingay.

I assume the practice ceased for reasons of cost, but it was a nice gesture that I appreciated receiving each year.

The HS website has an article on how AFL clubs are rewarding member loyalty.  Can someone who can get behind the paywall report what MFC is doing and how it compares to other clubs?  Thanks in advance.

btw, I didn't see or hear that there would be a 'reward' of some sort from mfc.  Some people here reported receiving a pin with membership packs but neither myself nor my niece received one in our 'Redlegs' packs.

I got a pin but it might vary by membership category? Port gave a keyring. Some clubs upgraded everyone by one category.

Here we go LH.

Membership prices frozen across all categories.

Complimentary general admission tickets offered to 2021 members renewing as compensation.

Membership packages with included hospitality offered complimentary function.

Reserved seat renewal period extended to ensure no member loses a seat.

htp://membership.melbournefc.com.au

That is all she wrote LH. As I probably wont be going to a game next season I get nil. However it does not worry me I paid last year and would this year  even if there was not season. Just a rusted on [censored].

I’m a Trident member. I received my badge, a lanyard and a couple of stickers

No pin or any other “reward” offers

I contacted the club via email, and they said that you had to nominate whether you wanted a pin, and If i replied to the email, they would send me one. I replied and stated "yes please", I also explained that members who choose the roll over option don't get the opportunity to select such items or choose a picture for their membership, and suggested maybe they could fix this.

This is a good point. The first year they did custom cards I got a bit overexcited and paid $5 (!) for one, then the next year a blank card turned up when I would probably have paid them another fiver. Every dollar counts.

I think they tell you when you get the renewal email to login to your member account for those extras. I'm an AFL member with MFC club support but I've done it for my kids memberships (selected a player for the card as well as purchase the birthday club add-on).

Have any MCC/MFC members not received their membership packs yet? I'm still awaiting mine, despite paying for it in August...

Myself & my son received ours in Dec before xmas. I only paid for mine in November ...my son earlier ...

I have not received anything yet but not worried I doubt I will be going to a game before July if there are games to go to. Funny thing is I am less enthusiastic about the coming year than of any in the last decade. Might be just my view of life in 2021 in general  at present.

cheer up, od. you can always enjoy a voyeuristic view of bucks and dimma's social life and fast eddie's pending resignation, whilst you wait for the real footy to commence

I received a scarf before Christmas, that's it, just a scarf. No membership letter, no membership card with the personalised player I'd chosen, no lanyard, no stickers, no fridge magnet with the draw on it. Just a single scarf. Rang the club and they had no explanation.

Then asked if there was any kids AFLW memberships or merch as we've just had a daughter and I want her to be a member for both teams like me. No memberships or merch available, thought that was a missed opportunity

I think it was reported that there was a hiccup with MCC notifying the Club of MCC/MFC paid memberships until much later than usual. We haven't received ours but not concerned as a quick call to memberships will sort it out.

Australia Post lost my pack and then claimed they never received it from MFC.

It scanned at one of their locations in Dandenong South.

Useless.

Must admit, sometimes I'm a bit lazy reading emails. I get to the first line and then usually move on. Missed a few things over time I admit

Lapel pin as thanks for paying 2020 in full a bit of a joke. Hobart Hurricanes gave me a players shirt, and getting a training shirt with members names sublimated into from Parramatta.

We get a scarf each year Clint From Melb snd really Hobart Hurricanes we're not affected by Covid last year As their season was over and are not this year it would seem.

Go online to the Membership area and look at all the categories

Reckon they are s three and can be ordered online

I paid for my overseas membership in October and soon after received the confirmation e-mail.  However - like every other year - I am locked out of the watchafl app. I have written to them to restore access, but haven’t had a response yet. The gift pack (is there one?) hasn’t arrived.
Last year they asked if I would like to forgo the gift in favour of a young supporter. I agreed and supplied my grandson’s name. But, for some silly reason, that isn’t part of the deal. They give the gift to someone of their choosing. Not a great way to bring the next génération into the Demon’s fold.

No, you're on your own there. I received my pack pre-Christmas, but I paid separately. Paid the MCC in October and the MFC in November, in case that makes a difference. (I prefer to give my money direct to the club.)

They're all for the men's team, there's no junior memberships for the AFLW team

Still waiting for my MFC membership despite paying automatically in October....seems to get slower every year

I'm auto too. Got my pack before Christmas, and have done so for some time.

Have you contacted club? Maybe an issue with your address

Sorry Redbeard understand you have had discussions with the Membership Dept.

Maybe ask if they can create a Junior category for AFLW Juniors.
Consider  writing or contacting Gary Pert.  Good luck.

  • PREVIEW: Sydney

The two teams competing at the MCG on Sunday afternoon have each traversed a long and arduous path since their previous encounter on a sweltering March evening in Sydney a season and a half ago. Both experienced periods of success at various times last year. The Demons ran out of steam in midseason while the Swans went on to narrowly miss the ultimate prize in the sport. Now, they find themselves outside of finals contention as the season approaches the halfway mark. The winner this week will remain in contact with the leading pack, while the loser may well find itself on a precipice, staring into the abyss. The current season has presented numerous challenges for most clubs, particularly those positioned in the middle tier. The Essendon experience in suffering a significant 91-point loss to the Bulldogs, just one week after defeating the Swans, may not be typical, but it illustrates the unpredictability of outcomes under the league’s present set up.

  • REPORT: Brisbane

“Max Gawn has been the heart and soul of the Dees for years now, but this recent recovery from a terrible start has been driven by him. He was everywhere again, and with the game in the balance, he took several key marks to keep the ball in the Dees forward half.” - The Monday Knee Jerk Reaction: Round Ten Of course, it wasn’t the efforts of one man that caused this monumental upset, but rather the work of the coach and his assistants and the other 22 players who took the ground, notably the likes of Jake Melksham, Christian Petracca, Clayton Oliver and Kozzie Pickett but Max has been magnificent in taking ownership of his team and its welfare under the fire of a calamitous 0-5 start to the season. On Sunday, he provided the leadership that was needed to face up to the reigning premier and top of the ladder Brisbane Lions on their home turf and to prevail after a slow start, during which the hosts led by as much as 24 points in the second quarter. Titus O’Reily is normally comedic in his descriptions of the football but this time, he was being deadly serious. The Demons have come from a long way back and, although they still sit in the bottom third of the AFL pack, there’s a light at the end of the tunnel as they look to drive home the momentum inspired in the past four or five weeks by Max the Magnificent who was under such great pressure in those dark, early days of the season.

  • CASEY: Southport

The Southport Sharks came to Casey. They saw and they conquered a team with 16 AFL-listed players who, for the most part, wasted their time on the ground and failed to earn their keep. For the first half, the Sharks were kept in the game by the Demons’ poor use of the football, it’s disposal getting worse the closer the team got to its own goal and moreover, it got worse as the game progressed. Make no mistake, Casey was far and away the better team in the first half, it was winning the ruck duels through Tom Campbell’s solid performance but it was the scoreboard that told the story.

  • PREGAME: Sydney

Just a game and percentage outside the Top 8, the Demons return to Melbourne to face the Sydney Swans at the MCG, with a golden opportunity to build on the momentum from toppling the reigning premiers on their own turf. Who comes in, and who makes way?
