Fair enough. I’ll take your point on board. From this post onwards no more politics from me.

I do wonder though. There have been numerous comments about Trump supporters on the footy forum that are allowed to pass without comment. Would posts about Biden supporters be let slide in the same way?

I really don't want to get into politics, so I hope this is my last word on the subject.  Be let slide by whom? I presume you mean other posters since the mods can't chase every short not strictly footy comment.  There have been numerous references to Dictator Dan that slid by. Did those offend you too? They probably offended some.  Remarks that offend one's beliefs tend to be more noticable/offensive than one's that support them.   I know it's tempting to comment (eg. me here), but it's best if we let one-liners that offend our personal beliefs slide by and have a quick nod at the wisdom of posts that support them.

Noted and agreed. Let's move on.

In Germany, dropping the snowball is a free kick. The rumour maybe true. The teabagger is, unfortunately: English Breakfast.

You're confusing snowballer and Snow dropper with tea bagging.

I can't stick with Sky news because my wife, my daughter and the neighbours complain about my language.

I'm confident you wont be richer for the experience by looking it up.

I was about to hit like on your post until I read the final sentence.

Have a pop at Trump by all means but can we please leave the voters out of it. You’ll never unite if you disparage the other side. They had very good reasons for not voting Biden. And there's zero relevance/comparison between Treloar and Collingwood and Trump voters as if half of America voting republican is some sort of big surprise!

Plus I thought the footy forums were supposed to be apolitical anyways?

I won’t bite other than to say Fascinating response on many levels. Especially for an Australian footy forum. As far as DL is concerned I stand corrected.

The reality is Eddie would switch to Either party whichever he got the best potential deals or policies with. No Loyalty here.

No, I don't reply every time. But I get sick of the baiting tbh. I'm here to talk footy and there's a group of posters here who do it rarely.

Serious question Nev, if it's the same group of posters, why not ignore them? chuck them on ignore and then you can get on with talking footy.

Yeah, fair comment. I'll admit I do have them all blocked, but when you know the majority of their posts are having a crack at you it's hard to not be tempted to read them sometimes.

Nev, we all get pi ssed off at posters at times, but its smarter, and causes less grief, to simply ignore rather than to react. Your choice mate.

Let’s face it Mr Bitters - we are the only two here worth reading... and you’ve been off the boil lately.

Quite so Fester!  I’ll lift my game

If you post a rumour and it’s doesn’t come into fruition, take it on the chin and move on. The Flighty LJ one was just extra funny that’s all.

From The Age:

"while pacy former Crow Jordan Galluci should appeal to clubs such as Melbourne seeking outside run."

I wonder whether he really is on our radar?

A Victorian, originally a high draft pick and does seem to have outside run characteristics.

Don’t see him running for us. We already have a runner, who no one else wanted in trade week.

From what I can recall he’s a midfielder/forward with a bit of theoretical burst speed but never did much of anything in games. Not sure he’s a true outside runner and would only add to the crowded group looking for games in the half forward role

  • PREVIEW: St. Kilda

The media has performed a complete reversal in its coverage of the Melbourne Football Club over the past month and a half. Having endured intense criticism from all quarters in the press, which continually identified new avenues for scrutiny of every aspect, both on and off the field, and prematurely speculated about the departures of coaches, players, officials, and various employees from a club that lost its first five matches and appeared out of finals contention, the narrative has suddenly shifted to one of unbridled optimism.  The Demons have won five of their last six matches, positioning themselves just one game (and a considerable amount of percentage) outside the top eight at the halfway mark of the season. They still trail the primary contenders and remain far from assured of a finals berth.

  • REPORT: Sydney

A few weeks ago, I visited a fellow Melbourne Football Club supporter in hospital, and our conversation inevitably shifted from his health diagnosis to the well-being of our football team. Like him, Melbourne had faced challenges in recent months, but an intervention - in his case, surgery, and in the team's case, a change in game style - had brought about much improvement.  The team's professionals had altered its game style from a pedestrian and slow-moving approach, which yielded an average of merely 60 points for five winless games, to a faster and more direct style. This shift led to three consecutive wins and a strong competitive effort in the fourth game, albeit with a tired finish against Hawthorn, a strong premiership contender.  As we discussed our team's recent health improvement, I shared my observations on the changes within the team, including the refreshed style, the introduction of new young talent, such as rising stars Caleb Windsor, Harvey Langford, and Xavier Lindsay, and the rebranding of Kozzy Pickett from a small forward to a midfield machine who can still get among the goals. I also highlighted the dominance of captain Max Gawn in the ruck and the resurgence in form in a big way of midfield superstars Christian Petracca and Clayton Oliver.

The Demons controlled the contest from the outset, though inaccurate kicking kept the Swans in the game until half time. But after the break, Melbourne put on the jets and blew Sydney away and the demolition job was complete.
