We've offered Nick Hind a 3 year deal, as has Essendon.

Why, he is average or below on everything except tackles. Less than 10 disposals a game. We already have those.

Can't see the attraction.  Mature age recruit who has played about 20 game in two years.

I would rather Neal Bullen, of whom I am not a fan.

Except Hind is ridiculously quick and a neat kick.

Just looked at Hind's wiki page.  He was drafted by Saints from Ess VFL team so he will probably take their offer unless we have offered overs.

That could go both ways; he's been there and knows what they're like.

someone got bored just sitting around with nothing happening

in all seriousness - NFI why they would consider another St Kilda reject - don't see much appeal with Hind prefer to offer Hannan 3 years tbh

Yes, I know they always look good in highlights...

Much better last season that this season, where he was pretty average. Was having Butler there playing similar role a factor?

Hind is a below average player. Can't see why we'd bother chasing him and offering 3 years. He plays like a ****ter version of Hannan, but without the leap. Kicks a goal every second game. He's behind Kent and about 15 others for the Saints.

If this is the kind of player we're chasing and offering 3 year contracts too, then we're going nowhere fast. St Kilda stock up on proven talent like Jones, Hill, Ryder, Butler, Crouch, Higgins etc. while we take their discards. So frustrating.

Looks very good in highlights.  I wonder how Hunt's highlights would look in comparison when all put together?

The player I was keen on that is slipping away is Witherton.  Although less essentially than a small pressure forward, having Witherton in defence or the wing would definitely improve our best 22.  Looks like the eagles are ready to land him.

Yeah he's let me down there....

Do NOT sleep on Treloar, as I thought when JM spoke to traderadio —We are 100% in this but it’ll ALL depend on TMAC.

if we somehow find a suitor by Weds COB, Treloar WILL be a demon. We are his preference which has altered things but unfortunately we’re about $425k short this McDonald must find a home (word is we are even offering to pay a record % of salary) but until Cameron and Saad get done it’ll stay stagnant.

Fingers crossed, cus he’s be the ideal wingman and my info is that he’s happy to play that role which again has altered thinking. However it is still unlikely unless TMac finds a home.

This is also why BB deal isn’t done, for we’d need pk26 for any trade w/pies. Remains prob 15% chance but absolutely we ARE in it.

Couple of nibbles for other players that free some extra space but again we won’t move in those if TMAC doesn’t happen.

Others: mild interest in Vardy, A.Phillips, Xerri & Cox (only if we miss Treloar) & Witherden said no thanks to Vic as a whole.

I think it's a bit irresponsible for the AFL to allow the trade/free agency period to begin without giving the clubs an answer on salary cap/list sizes for 2021. clubs are effectively working around their best guesses and with a blindfold on.

The most unbelievable part of this is the interest in Cox (or is it of the Cedric variety)

Love your work but you left out the fact that several clubs are enquiring about AVB.

Wouldn't have thought we'd be looking at Vardy and Cox if we're already tight on the salary cap and looking for what is pretty much a VFL ruck spot? Seems a strange call by the club (Preuss Mk II).

Would be surprised if the Pies accepted pick 26 for Treloar too, even in the circumstances, and even if they do, it leaves us with picks 43, 68 and 69 as it stands. Not ideal.

Treloar will go for pick 80 if a club covers the entire wage

Basically Viney is a Vic.

Todd came here in 1986 and played 12 years or so snd only went back I reckon  fir coaching in SA fir 5 years before he returned to Hawks I think. Then came back to us.

Basically Jack has lived 20 out of 25 years in Vic not SA.And would have been born in Vic in 1994 !

Todd went to Echuca as a player coach, he done his knee in the Frist game, Viney grow up with wines

Disagree mate. He'll leave the Pies no doubt, but IMO these things get over-dramatized in the media pretty often. Clubs will still act in reasonably good faith and a fair trade will be done.

Pick 80 is fair for the player they are desperate to off load, so much so that they are willing to upset the Pies players and fans.

Thanks for the goss mate.

im glad we are in for Treloar. He is a gun and has speed which we lack. Once we don’t screw our cap to get him I’m keen.

if pies want T Mac we should be able to work stuff out

  • PREVIEW: Geelong

"It's officially time for some alarm bells. I'm concerned about the lack of impact from their best players." This comment about one of the teams contesting this Friday night’s game came earlier in the week from a so-called expert radio commentator by the name of Kane Cornes. He wasn’t referring to the Melbourne Football Club but rather, this week’s home side, Geelong. The Cats are purring along with 1 win and 2 defeats and a percentage of 126.2 (courtesy of a big win at GMHBA Stadium in Round 1 vs Fremantle) which is one win more than Melbourne and double the percentage so I guess that, in the case of the Demons, its not just alarm bells, but distress signals. But don’t rely on me. Listen to Cornes who said this week about Melbourne:- “They can’t run. If you can’t run at speed and get out of the contest then you’re in trouble.

  • NON-MFC: Round 04

Round 4 kicks off with a blockbuster on Thursday night as traditional rivals Collingwood and Carlton clash at the MCG, with the Magpies looking to assert themselves as early-season contenders and the Blues seeking their first win of the season. Saturday opens with Gold Coast hosting Adelaide, a key test for the Suns as they aim to back up their big win last week, while the Crows will be looking to keep their perfect record intact. Reigning wooden spooners Richmond have the daunting task of facing reigning premiers Brisbane at the ‘G and the Lions will be eager to reaffirm their premiership credentials after a patchy start. Saturday night sees North Melbourne take on Sydney at Marvel Stadium, with the Swans looking to build on their first win of the season last week against a rebuilding Roos outfit.
Sunday’s action begins with GWS hosting West Coast at ENGIE Stadium, a game that could get ugly very early for the visitors. Port Adelaide vs St Kilda at Adelaide Oval looms as a interesting clash, with both clubs form being very hard to read. The round wraps up with Fremantle taking on the Western Bulldogs at Optus Stadium in what could be a fierce contest between two sides with top-eight ambitions. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons besides us winning?

  • CASEY: Gold Coast

For a brief period of time in the early afternoon of yesterday, the Casey Demons occupied top place on the Smithy’s VFL table. This was only made possible by virtue of the fact that the team was the only one in this crazy competition to have played twice and it’s 1½ wins gave it an unassailable lead on the other 20 teams, some of who had yet to play a game.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

In my all-time nightmare game, the team is so ill-disciplined that it concedes its first two goals with the courtesy of not one, but two, fifty metre penalties while opening its own scoring with four behinds in a row and losing a talented youngster with good decision-making skills and a lethal left foot kick, subbed off in the first quarter with what looks like a bad knee injury.
