Richmond v Geelong in the GF.

How nauseating.

Neither port nor brisbane deserve to be in the final. Both had home advantage and couldn’t get the job done.

Agreed...I’m pretty sure that Brisbane  played outside Qld twice & had a very healthy list & ditto Port who spent most of their time in Adelaide with 2 home finals & a full list to pick from. Both teams will never have this advantage again & yet neither are playing in a GF. We on the other hand travelled all over Aust & played at the most stadiums. Hopefully this will hold us in good stead next season. Go Cats (not sure I mean that but anything better than Richmond)

I think the Lions bottom eight players are even worse than ours! And that's saying something.

Stefan Martin should hang up the boots with Mitch Robinson, Zorko and Birchall.

will be going for the tiggas next week; not a fan of the cats

i reckon the bigger story is what will happen if cats subsequently get cameron as a free agent

richmond win premiership; get lynch...cats win premiership; get cameron?

free agency undermines the competition

I’ve cracked the Channel 7 commentary formula...

‘Recognised player x almost does something spectacular, but ultimately fails to impact the contest. Commentators talk back and forth about what was almost done, and completely ignore the action of what’s happening. Wait for the next stoppage to rejoin the action. Immediately comment on what a good job umpire (insert umpires full name) is doing. Wait until a player breaks free of the contest and immediately call their kick either a ‘chiseler’ or a ‘squeezy one’. Rinse and repeat.’

How’d I go? Do I get the job?

When can you start?

The Lions ruckmen have sh-t for brains. At every throw in they are behind the Cats ruckman, who is  getting the tap or grabbing the ball every time. The commentators have finally twigged to it. Dumbest football you could see. Hawkins in front, in the forward line throw ins,  has got the ball every time.

That oscar boy is a horrible player

At least you guys have stopped complaining about the umpiring. 5 frees to 1 in the third Q to Geelong. The AFL want the cats in the GF. Blah blah

Well, they probably realised that the side they were pumping for were effing useless and they were pushing a lost cause!

We need gun forwards ... both cats tigers have them include most of the finals teams look at their forwards it’s chalk & cheese

Thats why relying on tom mcdonald for the first 5 rounds as a sole tall forward was absolutely bizarre and an indictment on just how cooked simon goodwin is

Am I the only one who dislikes Richmond more than Geelong?

It was on the cards the moment Richmond lost to Brisbane. If the Tigers had of won, we'd have Bris v StK to face Port. And Geel/WCE/Coll/Rich all in their own filthy group.

I don't think I'll watch the GF. Bugger it

Sounds like I am in the minority here, but I’d love Ablett to finish with a flag. He has been an unbelievable player for so long now, still having an impact in big finals after 350+ games.

Grew up around the time him and his group started in the cats VFL side, have always followed them from afar since.

Plus, I absolutely do not like Richmond. They are a real smug bunch and their two big forwards would be in my top 5 most disliked players in the comp.

Go the Catters

I'm torn.

Although, gaz finishing without a flag is a delicious thought.

Ablett is a legend no doubt. But I reckon he will look back on his career and Regret going to the Gold Coast for a lot of his prime. If he stayed at the cats I reckon he could have 4 flags and be shooting for his 5th. And still be a millionaire

bizarre decision. And in my opinion will stop him being considered as the greatest ever

i really liked the Cats team of 2007 with guys like Bartel Enright and Chappy etc. now they are a team of arrogant posers

I'd be on board with a cats win - Ablett certainly has been something special, but I wouldn't mind Dangerfield pinging a hammy in training - I'm not sure I could handle a premiership medallion around that neck.

Not really, he has been good this year. He played poorly yesterday but was well ahead of Martin who is finished IMO.

Well pretty embarrassing that hawkins dominated them both in the ruck

I'm with you Steve but there will be a decent measure of misery for the loser.

Geelong will definitely go in as the undercats.

This isn’t bragging because I feel for you poor buggers in Vic, but I’m having a dozen mates over for the GF to sink beers and burn some meat over the coals. All served by a special waitress we’ve ordered the services of for the afternoon.

I think the outcome of this game might be quite irrelevant next Saturday.

Okay, I’m bragging.

Gee, Brisbane are crumblers. We've won more finals than them in the last 3 years. ?

  • PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

With both sides precariously positioned ahead of the run home to the finals, only one team involved in Sunday’s clash at the Adelaide Oval between the Power and the Demons will remain a contender when it’s over.  On current form, that one team has to be Melbourne which narrowly missed out on defeating the competition’s power house Collingwood on King's Birthday and also recently overpowered both 2024 Grand Finalists. Conversely, Port Adelaide snapped out of a four-game losing streak with a win against the Giants in Canberra. Although they will be rejuvenated following that victory, their performances during that run of losses were sub par and resulted in some embarrassing blow out defeats.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

The media focus on the fiery interaction between Max Gawn and Steven May at the end of the game was unfortunate because it took away the gloss from Melbourne’s performance in winning almost everywhere but on the scoreboard in its Kings Birthday clash with Collingwood at the MCG. It was a real battle reminiscent of the good old days when the rivalry between the two clubs was at its height and a fitting contest to celebrate the 2025 Australian of the Year, Neale Daniher and his superb work to bring the campaign to raise funds for motor neurone disease awareness to the forefront. Notwithstanding the fact that the Magpies snatched a one point victory from his old club, Daniher would be proud of the fact that his Demons fought tooth and nail to win the keenly contested game in front of 77,761 fans.

  • PREGAME: Port Adelaide

The Demons are set to embark on a four-week road trip that takes them across the country, with two games in Adelaide and a clash on the Gold Coast, broken up by a mid-season bye. Next up is a meeting with the inconsistent Port Adelaide at Adelaide Oval. Who comes in and who goes out?

  • POSTGAME: Collingwood

Despite effectively playing against four extra opponents, the Dees controlled much of the match. However, their inaccuracy in front of goal and inability to convert dominance in clearances and inside 50s ultimately cost them dearly, falling to a heartbreaking one-point loss on King’s Birthday.
