What a load of rubbish.

He gave the club very good service and got himself an AA guernsey when we were tripe.

Good luck to him but clearly haters are gonna hate.

Seems like just yesterday he was one of the players ushering in our new era. In his early years he was fast , exciting, AA  and set to be almost anything. Couldn’t kick unfortunately and Never really became the player many thought he might. Got caught up in the Neeld years of abomination and left for a flag. All in all a decent career... but a slightly bitter taste when I think about him and that era.
In terms of the dees,  Probably the best thing he did for us was bring in a Brayshaw.

I find it odd that our club is acknowledging Frawley publicly. It's not a good look IMV.

That's not right, didn't he get us Petracca or Brayshaw?

Jeez being Full Back in the period he was for us anyone would want out.  Getting smashed each week by big forwards with a truck load of supply.  He served us well through his time at the Dee's right to the very end when we got overs for him as compensation.

Spot on Steve was he supposed to stay while the club was run by idiots and end up with nil success.

He has what no other Melbourne player of that era has a premiership medal.

Must feel amazing to be given a flag upon arrival.

Credit where it's due, he was just about BOG in that grand final. No such thing as an easy flag.

Was disappointed when he left, he was a shining light in some pretty dark times. As a Dee, his battles with Buddy Franklin were always a highlight. He was pretty much universally recognized as the best young full back in the league for a while there. He never reached the heights we all predicted, but he retires as a 239 game, All Australian premiership player. Not too many Demons with that resume. Solid career whichever way you look at it.

The guy played 130 odd games for us, more than for the Hawks. It's the classy thing to so, snipping at a guy who gave us pretty good service while he was here is not a good look.

I remember when he was interviewed with Lynden Dunn, and Chip wouldn’t look at the Camera when asked about his next contract. Long before “the very end”

Chip was part of the problem, nobody cared except the Members and Supporters

Just out of interest did they acknowledge Watts? I wonder what the protocol is.

Sure, that's not the point I was making though. I don't think the club needed to say anything.

How good was it in 2010 when he took on the best forwards as a 22yo and beat Jon Brown and Brendan Fevola. It was just so exciting watching him play with such gusto that year as we started a mini climb with our two top picks Scully and Trenners adding to the euphoria.

He was so good that year that he won an AA and I thought we were on our way. Then after the infamous China post-season trip the word came out that Scully was going and I'm sure Chipper was devastated as well.

Very proud that he was asked to play at Hawks and showed why he was so highly rated on the biggest stage - quelling Josh Kennedy in his prime and in a GF.

Very pleased also that he keeps up regularly with Gawny and Dunny and Howey at a bar in Richmond, at least until this year. That's loyalty that a few on here clearly don't appreciate. He battled for almost a decade with us through ****ty times and full credit to him for getting a flag, just like Stan Alves and Greg Wells before him.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

A couple of intrepid Demonland Trackwatchers headed down to Gosch's Paddock for the midweek Preseason Training Session to bring you the following observations. Demonland's own Whispering Jack was not in attendance but he kicked off proceedings with the following summary of all the Preseason Training action to date. We’re already a month into the MFC preseason (if you started counting when the younger players in the group began the campaign along with some of the more keen older heads)

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
