  • Demonland changed the title to 2020 Keith "Bluey" Truscott Trophy

Probably just me but I find B and F awards in a failure year of little interest. It is probably a big deal for the players but as a supporter it is like celebrating mediocrity for me. Whoever wins it is no doubt a good player in the scheme of things, just does not work for me.

I’m not calling it a failure year at all. 2019 was a complete failure.  2020 showed what we can deliver but it should be remembered as an inconsistent and crazy year. Hard to gauge and I still believe we got shafted by the fixture.

Nonetheless the top 6 are daylight our best for the year. I’d love to see Trac win it and agree Langdon is a smoky.  Steven May could surprise as his efforts and strength in every game should be rewarded by the coaches.

May, Langdon or Petracca  they have played every game and performed outstandingly. Second to none Professional - like.

No disrespect to Oliver he has had a consistent year.  Imo Christian Petracca has had a standout year and gave us what we  expect of him.    I think he will receive the Bluey Truscott ....... S MAY and Langdon  will be close behind.

If Christian claims the B&F it will be interesting to hear his speech.

Best first year player will be interesting.  Jackson started strong, Pickett had a good Middle and Rivers finished strong.  Think Rivers should get this, his last 4-6 games have been outstanding

Petracca

May

Langdon

Gawn

Oliver

New players to clubs often do well as the heirarchy likes to congratulate themselves on their astute recruiting

May and Langdon to do very well.

Petraccas score involvements will rate highly as will his flexibility around the ground.

Gawn, Oliver and Viney should also rate highly

Salem late was good but wasn't consistent.

Be very surprised if the top 5 came from outside this lot.

I'll go

Petracca

May

Langdon

Gawn

Oliver

Viney

Here's my predicted top 10. Gawn would have been higher but missing games really costs you in Melbourne's B+F system

1.           Petracca

2.           May

3.           Oliver

4.           Gawn

5.           Langdon

6.           Viney

7.           Salem

8.           Lever

9.           Hibberd

10.         Fritsch

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
