Pity Freo couldn't have been this useless when we played them.

Jesse showing he still can't beat up on good teams.

Been non existent.

You mean if a finals spot is on the line, they really try very hard to win? Do you think that would have helped us in 2017 and this year?

It's hard to say. I'm no expert, but I think the 'trying really hard' approach might have helped us, but even if I'm wrong, it would have been worth a shot I reckon.

Okay time for me to log off for the offseason like I always do. See you all next year. Hopefully at the MCG.

Well good news. Dogs completely and utterly out played the dockers for that quarter however we are only 2 goals behind.

Gladstone Gladstone Gladstone Small

Rory Lobb almost a worse kick for goal than Fritsch!!

Gone!!!! now lets start the crucify bloodlet _____________ insert scapegoat

Go for a run in Antarctica wearing only socks and hat and let us know how it goes

Been for a swim in Antarctica in my boardies, does that count?  Felt pretty warm when I got out of the water  :)

No chance the Dockers win this unless some freak storm hits Cairns. They can’t win it unless it’s a massive scrap. Dogs are so much more skilled.

That Rory Lobb approach to goal is something else. Not just the twinkle toes stutter, he literally waves the footy around in a circle, must be a raffle every time he has a shot

Hogan is a one way running dud and I have no idea why people on here want him back

I know Freo are trying to help us out but they didn't need to mimic our gameplan of allowing the opposition to smother with ease, bombing into the F50 and not stopping the opposition when they get a run on.

We don't need trade radio when we've got ET the trade breaker.

Where the phark is both tabernar and Walters? Kiss on the knobs the bulldogs.

The Dogs have had a dream run this season. To finish 7th is not that much of an achievement given their ridiculously soft travel schedule.

There is still a half of football to be played. You can only imagine what is going through the minds of the Melbourne players and coaching staff at half time.

A storm would have been handy tonight.

Hopefully it’s something like “[censored] if only we learnt to win games we should instead of falling apart like a cheap suit under pressure”.

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
