Can someone tell Petracca we won. Jesus.

That's a bloke who knows that the job isn't done.  That's the maturity we want.  Be happy with the win, but we need to focus on next week very quickly.

Shows us that he knew the pressure was on us, knew we were not good enough in Cairns, and knows it's not done yet.

Funny - if he's going on about how great we are people would criticise him for overcelebrating, wouldn't they?

Shame on you @dazzledavey and anyone else who wanted us to lose.

I might get upset with things at the club but always want my boys to win

Love Rivers and again Spargo showed his worth

So the way I see it, we need the Hawks to pull their finger out tomorrow, but if not, either the Saints/Dockers winning sees us make the finals (to most likely be embarrassed by a better team, but hey, you never know)?

Silly me, getting ahead of myself, we also need to win a crunch, do or die, game against a really poor team...

Both right. Just his tone sounded liked we'd lost.

I’ve said it before but I love Langers, his kicking less so.  He was so important in that last quarter.

You have to wonder if we had snuck a bye in like everyone else over the last 8 weeks if we’d have got over the line in at least one of those other games.

The energy level was considerably different tonight.

The Kids did it and that is our future just there.... At least they didn't chuck it in.

Ed Langdon  he is something special.

Langdon is a gem. His work rate is unbelievable.

Rivers is a serious find.

Fun game to watch. Now we wait.

100%

The exact right approach. We're in a position we shouldn't have been, and we have a lot of work still to do.

Smith didn't do much. But he did it well.

Wonderful recruit.  He was everything we needed on the wing.

Now, if someone like Baker can also step up to play a consistent game on the wing, then we would REALLY have something.

Rivers winning goal, then the winning fist away. Match winner.

Off his non preferred foot?

Yes, Kossie got us going.

Any chance of the Hawks pulling off a hail Mary tomorrow?

Or a GCS win would be almost as good. Pies have Port in the last round. Both would be ideal!

If only the whole game was just that last quarter. The rest of it made me feel sick. They tried to cheat us out of the win but the boys found a way. Thanks Rivers, Langdon, Trac, Spargo, May....add who you want.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
