This might be the loss that finally nails Goodys coffin

You would pharking hope so.

How much can a supporter base take.

Are there any clauses in the final 2 years of Goody's contract?

They couldn't be that dumb could they?

List quality is different.. not maximising list quality is career suicide

Depends where you think the list quality is at I guess!

We can agree to disagree. My estimate pre-season was that we'd finish between 6th - 12th (and I think most judges thought that).

Why does, whoever the opposing team is, clear the ball from our F50 so easily,  then spread to our unmanned wing delivering it into their f50 with a series of uncontested marks. The Dees conversely struggle to clear if from our d50, kicking it to a contest on the congested wing usually losing possession. If we win the ball, we expend maximum energy doing so.
Just seems an obvious flawed strategy. Can someone explain please?

Couch discussion was so good, and like him or not Lyon nailed everything about the club and the side.

I wasn’t watching but I’m just laughing about the fact that people were upset that Lyon wasn’t more positive after we beat North Melbourne I think it was a few weeks ago.

Goodwin has lost me. Bartlett must act now. We can't have another year or 2 of these gutless, heartless performance. Outcoached two weeks in a row when our season was on the line. [censored]

Did they not look at a forecast before playing Preuss?

The players can take some blame too. Mentally fragile.

Agree with almost every criticism here but I have one more to add. We have one of the best taggers in the comp James Harmes, who has wasted away at half back every game without tagging once this year. The week he comes out injured we decide that tagging is actually a viable tactic, and throw a ball using half forward onto one of the biggest and best contested mids in the game. Fyfe 22 touches and 7 clearances. Melksham 9 touches and 2 clearances. Beyond a joke at this point.

If you go to the third quarter with about 4.30 left on the clock, you can watch Melksham tag his own team mate by grabbing AVBs guernsey as he's trying to bust clear of a pack at half forward.

Melksham has been woeful this year but never gets dropped.

This presser is giving us absolutely nothing information wise. Platitudes like we need to be ruthless. We need to play better footy. We need to get better at all phases of the game. What an utter waste of time. Treat the supporters with respect.

Goody

Freo were better than us

have to rely on other results - wtf

we need to get more ruthless - sack himself

where in it together

good we have experience of nearly being in finals

where not quite there - please

we were boring but intensity ramped up after half time

disappointing - understatement

two game to go simple be better

focus on what we can control

prepare as best we can. Bingo where going to work incredibly hard

Lyon cut him asunder about being ruthless. Stop talking DO

Lyon no answers well done Gary

Why the [censored] risk Jackson?? Put him in cotton wool for [censored] sake

Goodwin coaching to save himself it's the reason he swung the axe and brought in guys like Baker and Bedford. His press conference was all about deflection talking about the broader club. He must know he's on his last legs.

I have to say that I’ve always thought Lyon is constantly negative, but he has been proven right. Unfortunately 2018 was the aberration - we are nowhere near it - and, as he says, not playing as a team.

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t

    TURNAROUND by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons won their first game at home this year in the traditional King’s Birthday Weekend clash with Collingwood VFL on Sunday in a dramatic turnaround on recent form that breathed new life into the beleaguered club’s season. The Demons led from the start to record a 52-point victory. It was their highest score and biggest winning margin by far for the 2024 season. Under cloudy but calm conditions for Casey Fields, the home side, wearing the old Springvale guernsey as a mark of res

It's Game Day and the Demons are once again faced with a classic 8 point game against a traditional rival on King's Birthday at the MCG. A famous victory will see them reclaim a place in the Top 8 whereas a loss will be another blow for their finals credentials.

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an
