IN: GAWN, VINEY

OUT: JONES, TOMMY

In: Gawn, Viney, Lockhart,

Out: T.Mac, Jones (rested), AVB/Melksham (omitting captains seems to work wonders)

Gawn and Viney are automatic inclusions.

I'd say Jones and Tom Mac are the ones to make way.  I feel as though Sparrow is the future and deserves to hold his spot.

They love Lockhart, but would they drop Rivers to bring him straight back in?

It's a nice problem to have.

Out: T. McDonald, Jones, Harmes
In: Gawn, Viney, Jordon

Why Jordon? You realise he is another inside mid?

In Gawn, Viney, Lockhart

Out Hannan, Jones, Harmes

Would say Melksham over Hannan but wont happen. I am willing to have a good look at the three talls when LJ moves like he does IF we play two true smalls in Pickett and Spargo.

I’d give Gawn another weeks rest. Grundy is enormous but not at hitting it to his mids ...Treloar out & be surprised if they risk Pendlebury. Gawn is pretty sore & Collingwood are pretty beat  up & will be coming off a 4 day break !

Is it at the gabba or carrara?

Either way can’t see them going with the three talls plus Gawn

IN: Viney, Gawn

OUT: Jones, T Mac

Lockhart had a big bandage on his knee but who knows whether he’ll be right; a lot to like about Rivers

Tmac is quite stiff. Thought he did quite well in his return.

This is a tough selection this week. It’s a good problem to have though.

No 'big red'...no more look at.

We've proven it doesn't work and I sure hope Goody doesn't try to be nice and keep Tommy in the team.

Our best, most effective 22 has Weid and Jackson forward with Max in the ruck.

Tommy was serviceable tonight but from here on I see him only as depth.

If Max is right to go Tommy goes out.

Viney comes in probably at the expense of Jones...

Omac has to come back in.

If Tomlinson stays in, it cannot be as defender. He is clueless down there. The first three goals were all on him.

Losing Daw and gifting him a goal, free kick to Larkey and then out marked by Larkey

Had to be moved of Larkey, a  22 year old in his 21st game, 10 minutes into the first quarter and one of lever or may was then forced to play deep on him for the rest of the game.

That's tow games in arow he has been embarrassed by a kid.

Just imagine the vitriol that would have rained down on Omac if that had been him.

Hannan? Gee wiz what game were you watching? Took some good contested marks and really got us going his pressure was up. He stays without out doubt.

I do wonder whether we need to rest Jacko at some stage. He's played 2 games in a row off 4 day break (doesn't seem to affect him) and eventually he'll need a breather.

Did McDonald do enough tonight?

The Pies don't run tall in their forward half and rely a lot on the quicks and mids.

That's not Oscars go...so a no from me.

Just like Omac got embarrassed by a kid and got dropped for it. We all saw it and Goodwin did too.

Tomlinson was good tonight with his run and dash and creates an extra option with his hard running and work ethic. He stays in.

Omac is just slow. Who does he match up next week Bin? Serious question?

Spargo?? Are you serious? He had 7 score involvements and barely wasted the ball.

Did some actually watched tonights game?

Lever potentially has a hand injury of some kind. Second hand info, but apparently was hoding it behind his back post-match and not shaking hands, high-fiving etc. Fingers crossed it's nothing.

OUT: vandenBerg, Harmes, Jones, (TMac if Gawn plays)

IN: Viney, Lockhart, Bennell, (Gawn if fit)

vandenBerg with 11 disposals - 4 turnovers, 6 clangers. Must be dropped.

The obvious ins if available are Gawn and Viney. I'd like to see Bennel back commiting his body.

Our worst three today were Tomlinson, Harmes and the Melkman.

I agree. Team high 7 tackles, coaches love that.  I'm not so sure he gets dropped next week.

He did look a little sore at times though but otherwise I think he was more than serviceable .

Out - Harmes, Jones , Tomlinson

In - Gawn, Viney, Lockhart

Definitely not dropping T'mac on tonights stats (13 disposals, 7 tackles, 3 marks and a goal). You can't drop a man with those numbers. however the three tall forward did not work against port so i'm scratching my head as to what to do. if he does go, i think that would be very stiff.

which therefore means,

out: Harmes, Tomlinson

Ins: Viney, Gawn

How can you drop Hannan? He was great especially early. Lockhart will have to bide his time. Harmes is playing a different role need to give him more time. We are no good with 3 talls stick with Gawn, Dogga and Weid.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Gold Coast

On Friday, the Demons return to our Casey Fields fortress where they have a 77% win rate. The scent of September is in the air and the struggling Suns are on the horizon. The Cranbourne weather forecast? Ominous, like the match itself: a strong chance of carnage. Let’s be honest, last week’s first half against the West Coast was a training drill but we dropped our guard in the final quarter. While this match is a mismatch on paper — second versus seventeenth — football is won in the wind, the contests, and the moments.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #32 Tom Sparrow

The rugged Sparrow’s career appears to have plateaued in recent years. He makes the side on a week to week basis but he is unable to establish a foothold in the team’s midfield and arguably performs best outside of the contest in a forward position without being a goal kicker. He remains a good honest foot soldier but is not a star.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #33 Tom Fullarton

Fullarton managed a couple of games in the first half of the season but soon found himself back in the VFL. There, he found a niche at centre half back but it was not enough to retain a place on the list at season’s end.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #35 Harrison Petty

Entering 2025, it looked as if Petty would be secured in a defensive position, but plans shifted and he spent more time forward, averaging just over a goal per game throughout the season. It remains uncertain which area of the ground he will be expected to cover under the new coaching regime.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #36 Kysaiah Pickett

The dynamic small forward, possessing an innate ability to generate excitement with his explosive play around the goals, successfully transitioned into a role that afforded him more time in the midfield. The club also negotiated a long-term deal with Pickett, thereby eliminating any prospect of a move west by their star young player.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #37 Kade Chandler

For a few years now, he has been a reliable, hard working pressure forward, but in 2025, Chandler elevated his performance, becoming an integral component of the team with enough versatility to play effectively on a wing from time to time.
