Didn't get to see the game.

Especially interested in opinion from those who did on Jackson,  McDonald, Spargc.

A game against a very poor side only to be matched by poor umpiring.

Oliver and Trac in fine form.

Spargo awesome, Jackson rucked most of the time which was a shame but did well.

Tmac average but a good last qrt.

Gus much improved.

Lever in good form and Weid blitzed in the first half.

Many missed chances despite the big score.

So they had players on the bench. So some of their good players were injured or dropped. So what. I don't care. So sick of that team beating Melbourne, especially down at that stupid ground in Tassie where they always managed to win the toss to take advantage of the howling gale down there.  Happy to not only win the game but to beat them.

Did somebody on Demonland suggest Spargo shouldn’t get a game?

Given the last 14 years, I’d take a 1 point win over North. So to win by 57 points (should have been 100) is wonderfully satisfying.

Petracca, Oliver and Brayshaw simply magnificent.

Lever’s best game for the club.

Spargo back to his 2018 form.

Jackson lacks a bit of size, but his skill set.... WOW! Players of his size have no right to pick the ground ball up the way he does.

5-5 with plenty of winnable games left. Beat Collingwood and the lid is off!

Should have some very tasty ins back next week, while Collingwood are looking pretty ragged on the injury front. If we can clean up our disposal a little we're a good chance to trade places with them next week.

Jackson was impressive, Spargo very neat and creative, not so much to write home about re T.Mac.

Jackson was awesome. McDonald did his job but goes for Gawn next week. Spargo quiet but popped up a couple of times in the last when we ran away.

Mick Malthouse said today that we have another 'wasted season' on our hands.

Stick that where the sun don't shine, Mick.

Took us a quarter to settle, and to kick straight, but we smashed them off the park.  Disposal count etc doesn't interest me, as we controlled the game easily tonight.  We moved it better, we worked harder and we made it count.

The inclusions all had a positive impact tonight, starting with Spargo.  Pickett was great, Tom did his job and Rivers showed some good signs down back.

On that, our back line was sublime once again.  Larkey kicked a few but no one else really looked like getting near it.

Our season is well and truly alive at 5-5 and a healthy percentage to boot.

Bring on the filth on Saturday for the real test!

It absolutely will be a wasted season if burn the huge amount of scoring chances we had today.

Any top 8 team would dine out on that opportunity.

If Pendlebury doesn't come back in I reckon we're in with a massive chance.

Kysaiah Pickett is going to be something else.

Norf fans would be ropeable they essentially traded him away for the most dubious first round pick in ever between the father sons, academy picks and the fact there is no footy being played because of COVID

If we kicked straight it could have easily been another 40-50 points

Well played boys, I’m not angry this time

BRAYSHAW IS HE FINISHED?         HAVE A RETHINK ON ALL OF THESE PLAYERS.

Spargo he is no good.

TMAC Shouldn't be playing?

Clarry CAN'T KICK!

Lever is overrated?

Have a good rethink about knocking all of the above. There is plenty of upside and just starting to find their mojo.

Win AND percentage. GO DEMONS!!!

Weideman really starting to look like a class act. Not quite there but trajectory is right. needs to work on straight kicking though!!

Jackson gets ragdolled by stronger/more experienced rucks but is so agile he bounces back anyway. Imagine when he's got his  sea legs

Langdon has a lot of good football instincts but by god he is a shocking kick

Tracc nearly in the elite category but goalkicking finishing is the icing on the cake

Now if we can get rid of some our passengers faithful warriors whose best days are behind them

Spargo has his limitations but I'd rather him in than Jones because Spargo has upside whereas Jones has none any more. He's (Spargo's) a natural footballer in an era of athlete-footballers

Tommy, it's hard to see as a regular in the side any more, but with a "see ball get ball" directive, looked better (damning him with faint praise) than he has since 2018

It's official. Brayshaw and Viney cant play in the same team at present. No surprise that Brayshaw had a ripper 2018 when viney was out injured all year.

I was against his section and he proved me wrong. Very good game and I hope Charlie goes on with it. He had several goal assists as well as kicking one.

A good effort under the Circumstances

but we have to score more efficiently for all the effort spent

But the last Quarter was great. We put the Rubbish out

I know North ain't much chop this year, but a win over them is ALWAYS sweet. Particularly because we haven't seen many of them over the years.

Trac (!!!), Gus and Clarry were great.

Spargo was really good, more of that please!

Jackson, again, really good.

Weid missed a few, but his hands were good, and he lead into great spaces. Plus, the delivery was pretty good. Amazing what can happen when you kick TO somebody!?

We generally moved the ball around better, and had we had our goalkicking boots on, we should have won by 100.

Would love to smash the pies next week. I hope this team turns up, and continues to build on the momentum/development.

MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
