That zorko clap is so infuriating, hopefully may flattens that [censored].

Umpiring pretty soft gifting a few goals but we got flogged that QTR lucky to still be in it.

He is a [censored] of the highest order

Brisbane pressure is another level compared to last week.

Midfield is getting slaughterted. Then again if Langdon, Weideman and others could kick we'd be level.

Lever has been great.

Harmes is too slow - has been caught 3 times holding the ball. Where is Brayshaw?

The midfield not benefiting from Gawn must get down to coaching - Fagan is wiping the floor with Goodwin.

It's no secret that he hates us and loves getting stuck in whenever he can.

Am i the only person In this world that believes gus isn't afl standard this year?? Surely he needs to be dropped

I'm officially off him.

Hes useless.

Robinson decided to accentuate his god given ugliness with some of the worst ink in history.

I think Gerard genuinely wants us to be good

Max is smashing them, but our minds getting beaten to the ball....change that and were a chance......Viney has to better his delivery inside 50.

Our intensity from last week seems to have been left there. Umps not helping with some horrible calls but we are always 2 steps behind. Weid started on fire but was not in the 2nd.Smashed in the middle. Gus needs to get involved but hes not alone.

Gawn gets kneed in the back of the head by a show off going for mark of the year but gets nothing. Then Brisbane gets too high for what. They didn't even want to show it. Biased bull#%@#

Disagree with the Gawn comment as raynor got hands on the ball, but [censored] disgusting umpiring on many other decisions, the worst thing - no comments from the commentators that should be unbiased also. Huddo the weasel called for a holding the ball with no prior. It’s disgusting. Cant wait for foxtel to go into receivership.

we've been trash and can bring it in the second half

just need to get on top in the middle

Gus + Jones been really average

Oliver + Harmes fighting well

Been saying this for years. Stupid people on here think hes a star. Lazy one way runner who can't kick

Beaten in the middle and the contest, the difference in ability is clear. We won’t be winning this unless lions run out of steam

Umpires deplorable.  Complete lottery.

But with that level of midfield dominance they are eventually going to kick away

Midfield is being slaughtered. Hopefully they can lift and the lions fall asleep like they did against geelong.

Melbourne need to ask for a please explain by the AFL for this terrible umpiring.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Essendon

It’s Pink Lady night at Princes Park — a vibey Friday evening setting for a high-stakes clash between second-placed Melbourne and eleventh-placed Essendon. The wind-sheltered IKON Park, a favourite ground of the Demon players, promises flair, fire and a touch of pink. Melbourne has never lost a home-and-away game here, though the ghosts of two straight-sets finals exits in 2023 still linger.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: # 1 Steven May

The premiership defender has shown signs of wear and tear due to age, and his 2025 season was inconsistent, ending poorly with a suspension and a noticeable decline in performance. The Demons are eager to integrate younger players onto their list and have indicated that they may not be able to guarantee him senior games next season, in what would be the final year of his contract.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: # 2 Jacob van Rooyen

The young key tall failed to make progress during the season, with a decline in his goal kicking output. His secondary role as a backup ruckman, which may have hindered his ability to further develop his game, and he was also impacted by the team's poor forward connection. It will be interesting to observe his performance under a new coaching regime.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #3 Christian Salem

Salem proved to be a valuable contributor as a reliable and solid one-on-one medium-sized defender in what was undoubtedly his most impressive season since the premiership year. He remains a highly capable rebounding option for the Demons as he approaches his 200th game at the club.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #4 Judd McVee

Following an injury-interrupted start to the season, McVee struggled to maintain the standard he established in 2025 as he pursued an expanded role within the team structure. He remained a firm fan favourite and the club had hoped to negotiate a new contract with the former rookie selection from Western Australia, whose partner, Lily Johnson, plays for Melbourne's AFLW side. Those hopes were dashed when he expressed his desire to return to his home state and play for Fremantle. Like all players who have worn the red and blue and are leaving this year, we wish him well in the future.
