Melbourne vs Essendon Postponed

Wouldn’t the logical solution be that every team has a bye round between now and the end of H&A games?

The logical solution is that in light of Essendon’s inability to field a team in conformity with the AFL’s rules, the 4 points go to the MFC and we move on.

So the next 1-5 opponents of Essendrug will play a massively depleted side, but we will play them once everyone has returned, even though the incident happened before our game.

Our next opponent should be Essendrug

Work out the logistics AFL...

When we play Ess later in the season, if it is on short turnarounds before/after the game we are further disadvantages vs at least one of the other teams we play who will have a longer break.  So that potentially is 4 games in which we will be disadvantaged to finish higher up the ladder.

Unless the Vic Premier, an ardent Ess fan, makes a 'captain's call' claiming 'flexibility' and find a reason for them to not play on.

But that would mean virtually jettison the whole competition and given the covid situation in victoria I can't believe he would be that reckless - altho he did roll the dice with Cedar Meats and lost.  So who knows when it comes to his football club.

Maybe if the bombers players protest they can play?

Thats legal isnt it?

So the campaigner has admitted to breaching restrictions rules even after being warned.

Give us the 4 points and be done with it for ffs.

Absolutely

if MFC players did the same after being warned i would say exactly the same thing

The MFC have been massively compromised because of his blatant disregard for SIMPLE RULES

Just projecting a theory ...if ESS does lose their back 7 players & plays their next 2 games  with a severely compromised team with the likelihood of 2 wins & massive % booster for their opponents  ...what does that mean for the MFC who have had their game postponed & then will possibly have to play later in the season off shorter breaks to very likely a full strength ESS team . If this happens then it is definitely a truly “compromised” season !

Carlton, Essendon's opponent next week, is the big winner in this scenario.

The corona virus testing is not black and white. There are false negatives. You can test negative and still have the virus.

NO Seriously?? Flawed if so!

Particularly since the MFC did the right thing and self reported players that breached the rules, without them testing positive.

It's being speculated that this bloke McKenna will receive a substantial suspension.  Well that had better be served after he tests negative to COVID 19, otherwise it would be a pretty pathetic faux penalty.  Seems like this guy didn't really care about playing footy that much in the first place, so I recon a more fitting penalty would be to apply the maximum finacial penalty possible.

Should be an immediate four points to Melb.

I see this and, at first, thought it was silly... however, I'm kind of understanding where most are coming from now.  We've been totally short changed in all of this, and it has nothing to do with us.  We didn't break the rules.  We didn't force the game to be postponed.  And now, we're potentially going to have to play a game at a different time (during the week or after the main season altogether) and suffer because of it.

While my care factor for this season is the lowest it's been for any season I've experienced, I'd like to see something done about this, whether that's an automatic four points for us, or something else.

He has already arranged for a "stacked vote" on the issue.

HEAVEN OR HELL by The Oracle

Clashes between Melbourne and St Kilda are often described as battles between the forces of heaven and hell. However, based on recent performances, it’s hard to get excited about the forthcoming match between these two sides. It would be fair to say that, at the moment, both of these teams are in the doldrums. The Demons have become the competition’s slow starters while the Saints are not only slow to begin, they’re not doing much of a job finishing off their games either. About the only th

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k
