I don't believe that. Reckon he has had it since Ireland. Out of all the people in the afl there is one who has it and he recently come from overseas. That is where the bulk of cases come from.

Yep.. or got it on the flight / airports coming in.  Possibly incubation way beyond 14 days if he got it over there.

He did NOT pick it up in Ireland.

How do you know ?

The AFL is not above the Victorian government rules which are that you have to isolate for 14 days if in close contact with someone who tests positive.

On that basis, Essendon should be ruled out of Rounds 4 and 5 as well as tomorrow’s postponed game.

The consequences are that the fixture for the coming rounds is automatically revised or the Bombers forfeit those games or the season gets cancelled.

Feel sorry for McKenna and Essendon but it’s likely that this is not going to be the only isolated incident over the season and a precedent has to be set for the season that’s reasonable for all parties involved.

I agree with all that, but feeling soory for Essendon is a step too far.

Thanks old dee we new that about an hour ago. Ha ha ha.

Good to see u r on the ball old fella ??

If as Whispering Jack has said Essendon have to serve a two week isolation (they also played the Swans last week who have just played North) then the season is seriously compromised.

It can be caught up but ....

If McKenna trained with a low grade positive, surely they have breached protocol and have to Forfeit this and any future rounds missed?

They said in the press release that he had 5 negative tests. The most resent negative test was Wednesday. Friday's test was ambiguous and the retest on Saturday was positive.

All opposing clubs should get the 4 points, it is the only fair thing to do.

That doesn't mean he did not have it. I made this point in an earlier post.

Game tomorrow cannot go on if that is the case

Maybe the druggies should just forfeit the game?

Given that the players are all in very closely managed bubbles the immediate source should "in theory" not be too hard to find

It’s very possible that it’s a false positive. If he’s tested negative first. The chances of a false positive when you’re doing so many tests are quite high.

Did Conner play last week against the swans?

While I am not questioning your medical qualifications, I do not see how someone who has had 5 tests that are negative over 3 weeks, why you think they still have it?

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
