Nothing but good news this.

2 years without speculation. By the end of this contract he could be looking at a huge payday if his form continues its upward trend. If we are winning flags by then, i cant see him leaving unless he gets a godfather offer from someone else.

This season is shaping up as the making of this club.

Onya Trac.

He did what the club asked him to do.  The club has done what he asked them to do.  The results, so far, look scarily good.

It must be a pretty beautiful feeling for all involved right now.

There’s so much the club is doing well now.

Agree.

Runs against last year's the club is in crisis narrative a bunch of posters were running hard with last year.

Trac resigning also runs contrary to the palaver about him being unhappy at the club and its direction.

Beware the agendas I reckon.

Way to go !!

really pleased,

An article floating around somewhere said he had previously deactivated it for a period to focus on footy. Maybe he's gone that way again - via 'suicide-by-cop' to avoid the temptation of returning?

That would be a mature idea,  and focused if true.

Wasn't there someone on here saying that he was on the verge of leaving? From memory, there was talk of some type of heated meeting between the FD and Tracc's manager.

Who ? cares ???

Not Me.   And from his first year of AFL,  its been that way.

Over rated in the U-18's I thought,  and since.

2 years is very good.   If he continues to improve his attitude and fitness,  showing this year,  then try to extend/improve the contract, before the end of this season.

That was early to middle of last year, IIrC.?

Maybe before a change of heart, and then mind.  =  improved form 2nd half of season.

Maybe he and the club had a chat mid year, after all the talk of his 'Hit and Miss'  form.   And lacking fitness base.

Awesome news! His next contract come free agency is gonna be a huge one for him. Hopefully we can keep him and the rest of the young core in Oliver, Lever, Brayshaw etc all together.

He'll have to wait until Rnd 11, at the 'G',   to pass on his respects.

Great to see but, hhhmmmm am I the only one who thinks this is a little light on the years for the club? This is walking him to free agency (FA) where he can chase bigger $ and we could lose him for no return. (I’ve said it before but having fallen into an Ice Hockey/NHL hole, players regularly push to FA very hard to chase $$ and term on contracts). (Here comes the “he loves the club and being around the boys, I’ve asked him, he wants to be a one club player” responses)

I think it's a,  "show us your form",  if you want us to "show you the big Bucks",  Christian.

Well he’s got to put in three cracking seasons if he wants to cash in big with FA. Hopefully we will have a couple of flags by then with his input. He has put the pressure on himself to perform by taking this deal.

I love it!  Forget about mid-season media speculation and distractions about where he will be  in 2021.  The sole focus is on football in 2020.  Great stuff Tracc.  No denying it, the stars are starting to align for the MFC!

That got done really quickly.  I would take that as a sign that he never even considered going elsewhere.  I would also guess that the club put a pretty good offer on the table right from the start.

No, it was near the very  end of the season. Which negates the rest of your curious supposition.

It’s a signing of faith on both parts in my opinion.

I’m presuming (of course) the club know what he is capable of yet aren’t willing to offer a long term contract on huge money - and rightly so.

His management also know what he is capable of yet know he hasn’t lived up to that potential as yet...but this signing takes him to free agency.

It’s no doubt fair on both parties, leads him into a potential long term, big bucks deal at Melbourne provided he performs...or else allows him to explore his options after 2022 if it doesn’t all work out..

I don't know what your talking of,  but i read,  and saw an unhappy player pre-midseason.

Of course the club would have had discussions around end of season,  if not end of season player reviews.

Early season Tracca was poor, improving near-on midseason,  and improved further, in an out of form team.

I'd suggest to you they would have had a couple of conversations,  thru the season.  Influencing his form.

If he's worth it he'll get the big $$ offer from us. He's with us for the next 3 seasons at least, that's good enough for me

If he plays like he did Saturday for the next 3 years and we're not pushing for a flag he has every right to exercise his free agency rights.

Except that he actually seems to have been suspended by Twitter, which based on Drumph's ongoing efforts must take the bigliest immaturity in history for that to ever occur.

Although, after scanning the site's guidelines, the suspension of Christian's account may have been due to his Dusty impression on the weekend. Among the Twitter rules:

"Impersonation: You may not impersonate individuals, groups, or organizations in a manner that is intended to or does mislead, or confuse others." The Crows seem pretty confused.

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
