WEST Coast spearhead Jack Darling has suffered a pre-season setback after fracturing his cheekbone at training. He will miss the first Marsh Series match and is unlikely to play in the second game. May be available for Round 1 against the Demons.

Jeremy McGovern & Tom Barrass are likely to miss the start of the season.

WOW - it's a good thing we don't have any injuries atm. We must be a chance.

No way Darling's missing our game with a fractured cheekbone.

Has 5 weeks to get over it.

A little love tap from May might be in order early on.

Demonland would go into meltdown if May got himself suspended in the first game!

Is this thread serious, other AFL sides having injury issues

According to Dland we are the only club this happens to and it's because

We are cursed

We didn't go on a camp

We haven't changed our captains

Our players are involved in contact drills

On a serious note

Eagles bigman stocks for Rd 1

McGovern wont play

Barass wont play

Oscar Allen possibly play underdone

Hickey 50/50

I couldn't care less who they play or don't. If we are going to be any good we have to win this 1st round, not only for players own confidence but for the club as a whole plus of course relieves the pressure on the coach with a first up win. We can do it with who ever plays for us or them.

Hagdorn - "Jesse Hogan won't play for Fremantle ever again"

Demonland posters - "Hagdorn is a hack journalist, rarely gets anything right"

Hagdorn - "McGovern and Barrass won't play early rounds of the AFL season"

Demonland - "McGovern and Barrass are going to be huge outs for our first game"

Why wouldn't this thread be serious - there's always an oppo watch thread prior to every game

On our last years form, you'd just play McGovern and Barass on one leg each and just watch our forward 50 entries be marked with ease by them on every occasion.  Hopefully we've learnt a bit.............Hope.

Have a glance over training reports and responses whenever a player goes down at training.

Deelanders carry on like we are the only club this happens to

Or when Darling gets a cheekbone injury, some say he will still play round one.

If that happened to a Melbourne player they would instantly write him off for the first four rounds of the season.

I would be far more interested in the availability of these two; Jeff Dalgleish and Dean Margetts. If they are selected it will have way more influence on the outcome of the game.

With some justification.

Particularly if they say 4-6 weeks and will be right to go round 1.

Oh, I forgot about him, he's the apprentice and takes his lead from his "mentors".

This from his bio; “AFL umpires Dean Margetts, Jeff Dalgleish and Luke Farmer have shown me the professionalism required to succeed at AFL level and particularly over the last two years as a rookie, we have built strong relationships".

Wonder if he's building "strong relationships" with the WC players like his mentors. I would suggest they would make a strong cast in a Jim Henson movie but it's the fact they are so blatantly biased that really gets to me. Gill the dill would be a major character in a Henson movie too, no doubt.

A win in the west, with any 2 of this lot officiating, would be truly monumental.

Nah we don't need full time umpires though

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator attended training out at Casey Fields to bring you the following observations from Preseason Training. GATOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS There were 5 in the main rehab group, namely Gawn, Petracca, Fullarton, Woewodin and Lever.  Laurie was running laps by himself, as was Jefferson.  Chandler, as has been reported, had his arm in a sling.  Lindsay did a bit of lap running later on. There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan.
