Heading back to our usual injury list numbers, 8 to 12, year after year?

It's a shame for the big fella and we might need to look at the state league options just in case either of Preuss or Gawn get delayed in their rehab heading in to the season, but 8-10 weeks is 2-4 for the real stuff.

In a more flexible system we'd have a 3rd mature ruck bought in just to give a chop out in the first couple of preseason games, but without that we now should get a good look at Jackson, Bradtke and even rotate the key forwards through.

As long as we don't overtax him and allow for a few mistakes I think Jackson will show he's up for it in the preseason and ready for round 1 as the limited minutes back up.

This is just getting ridiculous, I’m starting to rage. Get ready Luke Jackson to be the main man for round 1.

Calm down my friend.  It's just an injury.

8-10 for Pruess will mean he isnt right this year. probably look a million dollars 1st November for Pre-season.

Not sure that is correct. 5 weeks before the season starts, so he is only missing the first few games of the year.

I know Mitch Brown can back-up ruck.
Any thoughts on whether he could be the main man in a pinch?

That was going to be my first thought, perhaps we have a mix of using TMac, Weid, Brown, and Jackie in the pre-season to avoid further injuries. Gawn is supposedly going to be good for round one, but losing Preuss has definitely hurt our depth. Shame for the bloke too, he really seemed be taking the pre-season head on.

Anyone got Cam Pedersen's number?

Preuss literally does...

Unlucky for Preuss. He looked like he worked extremely hard in the off season. This will test our depth early on, an opportunity arises for someone else and let’s hope they grab it.

Look forward not backwards

Trust Jackson or Weid to second ruck

If I hear another Pedersen or Garlett memory let's go back to Ivor Warne Smith or Don Cordner for the very best !!!

In 2017 we survived and we will again!

Is Tomlinson an option to Ruck as well? I remember GWS used him there in the finals last year, I could be wrong.

At least he will be fresh for the second half of the season when a spare ruckman is of most value assuming Gawn is fit for the start. Gives Jackson an opportunity to have a game if we need to play two ruckman.

2024 Player Reviews: #36 Kysaiah Pickett

The Demons’ aggressive small forward who kicks goals and defends the Demons’ ball in the forward arc. When he’s on song, he’s unstoppable but he did blot his copybook with a three week suspension in the final round. 2024 Player Reviews: #1 Steven May

The years are rolling by but May continued to be rock solid in a key defensive position despite some injury concerns. It was another strong season from McVee who spent most of his time mainly at half back but he also looked at home on a few occasions when he was moved into the midfield.
